Hey there! I am trying to help a friend of mine buy seat covers for his F40. Considering there was under 300 made, my hopes aren't high. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

1315 F40s were made. Do you mean 288 GTOs?

I got my F40 seats reupholstered by the Tappezzeria Luppi in Modena with correct nomex fabrics.

I was advised to do so by F40 specialists and fellow owners and I would do it again without any hesitation if needed.

My intent is to preserve the current seats as they are in pristine condition.

Quick update - Looking at O'Rourke in UK. He is trying to help me out. Some more info - Looking to preserve my current seats/interior as it is already in immaculate condition. I am trying to find a cover that can be sat on while driving/showing the car.

Sure you will but make sure your covers are correct. My F40 is a 1988 car (chassis starting with 7). These earlier cars have different fabric. Plus other items not on later F40s.

Sorry, I misunderstood your initial message.

I never heard of seat covers on a F40 but that is interesting.

You really need a tight fit if you want to sit on it and drive the car properly. This may not be easy to obtain given the seats shape.

Please let us know what you will come out with.

Ferrari delivered some F40s with these silver & yellow seat covers made to fit the shape of the seats, I can't remember if they were only for the early Eu cars or the early USA cars, very rare items but they are factory-supplied for F40, I agree with Jack Congo, these should not be used for driving the car as you compromise the the seating stability afforded by the nomex-covered racing seats.

Best fabric for F40's is available from top interior specialists MAIELI. Highly recommended.
They are near Mantova, Italy. They do superb interiors on all sorts of Ferraris.

Ask for Mrs Stefania Maieli, she does speak English.

Don't be too worried about using the seats. They can be recovered very well. I had them make a booster seat for my kids in the same material.

Please post a photo of what you're looking for. Are you talking about the Gray and Yellow covers?

The grey & yellow ones I posted are original items, in all the years of perusing over a hundred F40s, I have encountered these just twice, one with a delivery-miles F40.

I guess they could be replicated, the black Prancing Horse is silk-screened into the lycra material, IMO these would be a huge hassle to faithfully duplicate.

Most owners just throw on a set of generic Ferrari SpA red seat covers if they feel they need covers.

As an side, in late 1989 or so Ferrari SpA rolled out their new USA version of the F40 for the press to photograph at Maranello.

The car sported red tartan seat covers, AFAIK these were never delivered with or seen on any production F40.
