All of my Ferraris cost a fair amount to run but nothing that is outrageous.

The GT4 had the typical "deferred maintenance" issues, the QV had the FF PPI issues (front end rebuild) and the 355 only had the exhaust, alternator and A/C compressor needing replacement ...... nothing huge and as Steve says, if you can't afford to look after it then don't buy one

I have to say, my IS250 had an expensive fix when the radar cruise control died, $1800, which I thought was excessive when you see you can buy the failed unit for $600, BUT, the real cost to fix it is in the labour needed to re-align the integrated systems to the new unit, a FULL day to test and calibrate !!

Then there are BMWs SRS lights that come on AFTER the warranty period passes :(

$2500 for each side mostly killed by fat arses getting in and out of the car (the sensor in the seat dies requiring the entire side to be changed)

Cars, WOFTAM but you need to have a hobby ....... just ask that MIA flyboy Gary :)

Is the Fabspeed swapout a decent fix Elliott ?

It seems to have made my car a lot quieter , maybe the iconel coating has added to the muffling of the sound ?

As I said at the time, the 4-1 design will largely eliminate the famous 355 scream so it will seem quieter.

In order to keep that you have to stay with a 4-2-1 design, like Tubi.

You probably notice it more than most owners as your car spends most of its time above 7000rpm… :p

It certainly is possible to do the belts on the 355 without taking the engine out, but it's not recommended.

Taking the engine out, while a PITA, is a perfect opportunity to do a bunch of other things and check everything thoroughly while you're there.

I'm glad you're not a financial advisor. When that 275 to which you refer was $9,000, that was the same price as a two story terrace house in the inner city of Melbourne.

Fabspeed alter the sound as the manifold is a 4-1 setup where the factory original is 4-2-1 which helps to produce the f1 shriek. 4-1 will offer more midrange punch. I didnt think Fabspeed made inconel headers, unless you have some sort of shielding over them.

I ran Tubi headers which are insulated very well and retain the OEM 4-2-1 design. I wnated to go back to original look and recently had my original headers re fabricated in much higher grade stainless with the heatshields re attached and they look as new but are much improved over stock.

I'd prefer the 2-story terrace house in an inner city area.
