    These 2 people who knew him said that the public image was actually toned down compared to reality. They said the womanising and drinking was just off the scale, and he was a heavy smoker. They also said you could not help but like him because he was such fun. So very different from the serious professionals today.

    One more Hunt anecdote. There was a reception for the teams and drivers on the Queen Mary ship in Longbeach on either Wed or Thurs night and there was free practice the next day for the USA GP. There were Hollywood celebrities, grid girls, VIPs etc in attendance, but all the drivers, except Hunt, left before 8pm. At midnight Hunt was really drunk and still chatting up any woman that was still around. And apparently still charming and not offensive, even though he was really drunk.
