Summary: the race was a mess, Ferrari brought a s**t show, and only Alpine managed to be worst than Ferrari.

 

He didn't clip him. Watch the onboard of Sainz. Alonso tried to beat Ham to the corner and when we he realized he wasn't going to make it, he slammed the brakes hard, then drifted a bit off his line and into Sainz.

Alonso put himself out of the points on that one, not Sainz.

 

If you want to apply logic than you have to be consistently logical, thus penalize him.

Nowhere it seems.
Vigna and Elkan are just happy to participate.
They just want to make profits with the brand.
They just don’t understand that racing is the soul of this brand.
Being humiliated on a regular basis by a soda brand will damage Ferrari’s reputation in the long term.
For the youngsters.


I guess road cars electrification will be the cherry on the cake in the end..

Do feel bad for him. IMO it's a racing incident (restart etc). I guess the punishment is for the chaos it caused?

Alonso couldn't go any more left than he already was though.

Racing is the soul of other teams too, and some do a better job.

 

Absolutely what a crap shoot today

 

Electrification removes a big reason for buying these cars as the engine sound is gone.

 

Ferrari is unique.( to me at least)
Red Bull is selling a disgusting Soda.
Ferrari is selling ( for now) a wonderful V12.

 

I guess the FIA will still no learn its lesson following the 2023 Australian GP, no more than they did at Abu Dhabi in 2021.
Restarting a race for a couple of laps after a red flag is useless; it only brings chaos.

"unbelievable this start, they should never do it" and then pretty much immediately "they should check where the flag was shown as we get P3 back if they do it like Silverstone last year"

Manufacturing expensive cars doesn't entitle anyone to success; it has to be earned.

 

So with Gasly squeezing Ocon into the wall, he could well get penalty points for that, which would trigger a race ban for him in Baku.
