Yep. Singapore 2017 for me. Halfway around the world and the Ferraris didn't make it halfway around the track.

welcome to the Americanization of a Grand Prix.

Stop / Start / Stop / Start will become the norm. American Football anyone ?

sigh...it's bad enough seeing them lose, but even worse not seeing them at all.

A reality that unfortunately seems ever more true.

I don't think I'll have the patience for that.

it's gradually incoming, courtesy of Liberty.

The term Grand Prix will become diminished. The FIA needs to get a grip and put Liberty back into their box.

Masi was nothing more than a Liberty Media stool pigeon.

It was a risky move for Leclerc but that would be my guess as well. Racing incident.

I don't know if you guys saw the post with telemetry in the Post Race Analysis thread, but the only reason Max was so much faster was because Lewis deliberately slowed down.

Um no. Sorry Charles, you tried to drive over the top of his left front wheel. Charles trying to turn in so soon when he was on the outside of 3-wide was a really poor decision.

Leclerc continues to be a huge disappointment. Heck, Ferrari continues to be a HUGE disappointment. Thank God for Aston Martin and Alonso this year, makes me WANT to watch the races again...

I had to watch the race on replay after it happened, so if I missed something on the broadcast I'm sorry, but the video of the cars slowing and STOPPING on track during a formation lap (one of the many re-starts, forget which one), and then I think a Haas car ZOOMING off track to avoid the traffic jam, HOLY CRAP! Where's the concern about safety for THAT incident? A few people mentioned the lack of 10 car gap maximum, but come on, like we saw with someone zooming up from the back (Gasly) in the rain and nearly smashing into Sainz sitting on the track after the wet Japan race last year, come on. Anytime there is a safety car, or apparently now formation lap, there is going to be someone in the back, or who was lapped, or coming out of the pits, trying to catch the safety car line up and it's a big risk.

We can debate all day the irregular 5 second penalty/racing incident or 1st lap-more-likely-to-be-racing-incident rulings, but if SAFETY is the primary concern (as judging by so many red flags/safety cars/virtual safety cars/restarts then let's go after all the safety things like the formation lap accident waiting to happen.

Hey, and just for fun, if you're having a heart attack (I've had one, don't recommend them) about the "Americanization" of F1, go blame Bernie E. for selling it to them!

Maybe they were filming Talladega Nights 2 this week end, where Max had slingshot engaged.

This is beyond Masi. Maybe if he'd red flagged latifi....he just did half a wave around...

BTW...wave arounds... You wanna see a dominating performance get wiped out? Watch the indycar race from yesterday, then we can talk pit strategy in that thread.

They don't need to be American to be influenced by American methods and wish to import them in F1.

Dominicalli isn't American (that I know), but Liberty CEO, he uses his position to "reform" F1 to give it a NASCAR flavour.
