I haven't been watching LIV, I have only watched PGA if any of my favorite players in contention. I am really looking forward to the Masters, my favorite tournament of the year unless they make the US Open course ridiculously hard. It will be nice to have many of the LIV players there too.
I watched part of the LIV today on TV, 'CW' channel, I was entertained, BUT, I think they are still overdoing it a bit much with too much actual on-air face time with the golfers. It's like the XFL and the other new leagues that interview players DURING the game, it's not necessary. A little is OK, but they need to cut about 75% of it out.
I could give two ****s about "LIV"- The Masters to me always signals the end of flippin winter and the epitome of class, history, talent and tradition - And the end of doldrum cold depression ******** I'm forced <for the moment> to deal with in flippin Colorado-
I imagine there might be a little tension between the guys who took the LIV paycheck and the PGA guys. Should be interesting.
Love the Masters…would love to go watch the tournament live some day, as it falls near my birthday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Edward...if you can secure tickets, my advice is to go Monday or Tuesday practice rounds, or Thursday and Friday for the "toon-a-mint". AN might be the most beautiful place on Earth, excepting the Grand Canyon and Steelton.
AND, is it Koepka and Bryson Dechambeau that get along so well? (sic) It's not ALL about the money, playing 54 holes over 3 days is a pretty big draw vs 4 days and 72 holes. AND you don't have to golf in 40 tournaments a year. If I had a choice, I 'd do LIV in a heartbeat over the PGA.
I'm rooting for the LIV players to do well at the Masters, imagine if a LIV player won it! There will be 18. Phil Mickelson Charl Schwartzel Bubba Watson Sergio Garcia Patrick Reed Dustin Johnson Brooks Koepka Bryson DeChambeau Cameron Smith Mito Peirera Joaquin Niemann Abe Ancer Thomas Pieters Harold Varner III Jason Kokrak Kevin Na Louis Oosthuizen
Rob. Outside of Cam Smith, I don't think any of these guys have a prayer and my guess is half of them don't make the cut.
I agree, the LIV players have all dropped a couple notches in capability since joining LIV, probably Cam too. Scottie Scheffler, +700 Rory McIlroy, +700 Jon Rahm, +900 Jordan Spieth, +1600 Patrick Cantlay, +1800 Tony Finau, +2000 Justin Thomas, +2000 Cameron Smith, +2200 Jason Day, +2200 Xander Schauffele, +2200 Collin Morikawa, +2200 Dustin Johnson, +2200 Max Homa, +2500 Cameron Young, +2800 Viktor Hovland, +3300 Will Zalatoris, +3500 Sam Burns, +3500 Hideki Matsuyama, +3500 Sungjae Im, +3500 Corey Conners, +3500 Brooks Koepka, +3500 I actually would give a little more credit to the young players who could go hot like Mito Peirera 27 (3rd 2022 PGA Championship), Joaquin Niemann 24 (PGA Tour wins in 2019 and 2022), or Abe Ancer 32 (PGA Tour win in 2021).
I got Rory back when he was 8-1 for 100 units. Homa at 25 for 40 units and my longshot last week for 20 units Tommy Fleetwood who was at 75-1. I took a long look at Hovland
I keep thinking Tommy will break through one of these years, but he just.... doesn't. My WISH would be the Masters does not turn into an 'us vs. them', but my guess is that won't happen. The last few holes of the LIV yesterday were pretty entertaining.
Seriously- Scottie Scheffler- is there a more real, humble, decent but ridiculously talented guy in professional sports?
Phil has dropped easily 30 pounds- Looks lean and mean- Brooks on the other hand looks fat and lazy- but still his cocky annoying self- he reminds me of the guys I used to kick the **** out of in high school and clip their cheerleader girlfriends- but I digress I would not count Phil M out- He's in the best shape he's been in in 10 years and knows how to play the course- obviously
Agree on both! Especially Tony- Salt of the earth guy and sick talent- only issue with Tony is he has to dial back at Augusta- Gary W Is great but needs the 6th gear he had at one point- seems timid lately- But agree- both are great guys- Just SS as world #1 and still drives a 200k mile Tahoe is pretty refreshing
Scottie is a great golfer and might be good most of the time, but this move wasn't classy. https://youtube.com/shorts/sFRicC0cjN0?feature=share
