I agree. But I am in the minority here as I find the PS goofy looking at best. Actually it’s not as attractive as the Mazda (which is not even close to being a good looking SUV) but given the drivetrain and tech a one bagger. Ok, maybe two for me just in case the suspension makes the one bag fall off….

The PS reminds me of the winged words of my all time response here on FChat:

    moorfan 07/10/20

So many F cars appear to have specced out by a stripper or someone with severe mental disease

    …..or as they say…..The emperor has a new crossover”……

But I’m sure your wife is beautiful too…..

This is as stupid as this meme.

People here who can't tell the difference between a Mazda CX30 and a Purosangue are proud of that.

Just imagine a person with the chutzpah to say they can't see the difference between an MR2 and an F355> Or an MK1 MR2 vs. a Mondial. A 412 vs a Prelude, a C4 and a Daytona, a Probe vs a 456!

Good god, some people here are eager to shoot themselves in the foot.

Remind me of the post here that said a Prius front is the same as an SF90..hence...

    Holy moly.

No. The problem is the inherent lack of reading comprehension, interpretation skills and reason that is ubiquitous amongst ALL Internet forums.

Irrespective of the intelligence of the reader, all sense of common sense (and sense of humor) gets thrown out the door when many a person reads or responds to a post.

Everything is not necessarily all BLACK or WHITE, nor absolute in its application(s).

Hyperbole is a means of accentuating a thought.

For the life of me, I really do not understand the vitriol towards the design/appearance of the PS. I do understand the negativism towards the basic concept (Ferrari SUV), even though I don't agree, but the appearance/design has me baffled. I won't try to understand, but it has me stumped.:(

They are probably the type that says these are also, and wear as some sort of badge of honor? Weird.

Never anything wrong with thinking car A looks fugly…and let’s not kid ourselves, part of why Pollock is “good” is cuz it’s worth 20 million and this is half a mill out the door. See Hublot.

    that’s always an honest critique.

At the same time hyperbole goes both ways.

let me put it this way, i wouldn’t kick the PS out of my garage if it was given to me, lots of peanut gallery acting like they would. Now That’s funny.

I don’t have any issue with the FUV, I would get an FUV if I liked it, even though it has no utility for me- we need a rear bench and capability to haul 20 bags of horse feed.

I wish we still had that pic up of the various renderings this thread had for the first few years, for illustrative purposes. If Ferrari would have built that svelte looking ? red or ? yellow one I’d sell my soul or pimp out my wife for one.

But IMO it is just not a good looking car in general and a disappointment as a Ferrari.

ps I just hope they don’t F up the F167

I suspect you may want to take delivery of PS if you want a shot at 167.

It’ll be a regular production model as will be the non V12 PSs.

No, the real black mark, if any is passing on the GTS.

Machs nicht: I am and would be absolutely 100% content if my pre GPF SF were to be my last Ferrari. I’m still just as giddy as I was the day I took delivery.

Truth be told, if I got the PS for free, I would sell it - not because it's 'ugly' - but simply because I'm too frugal/poor to drive it the way it is intended.

The irony is 'ugly cars' of the past always have some sort of resurgence if they are from an important make or have historical/cultural significance. See Lotus Europa, hell even the Aztek has it's fans. (especially after Breaking Bad.)

History eventually treats Ferrari very kindly, look no further then the breadvan.

Pontificators here might give you a thousand reasons why the Breadvan is 'ugly.'

I'll give you 30 million reasons why it ain't.

“Race cars are neither beautiful nor ugly. They become beautiful when they win.”
    -Enzo Ferrari

If the PS falls flat, then many may judge it as a failure. If it's a sales success, well - that's the beautiful thing about capitalism, the market doesn't lie.

I do agree that given SF has not won in 10+ years..so something *is* truly wrong, but I don't blame the road car division, that's for sure.

    How ironic.

I let my late year 575 deposit ride waiting for the (pre spy shot internet/ sight unseen) 599 as my wife & kids thought the 575 looked like a ‘vette. Bought a 360 spider & Vanquish S as a stop gap instead. And was absolutely disappointed when the 599 came out. I kept the Vanq, got my deposit back and waited it out for the F12.

I’m sorry. I need to stop posting here but couldn’t help it as I’ve been dying to post that banana splits guy ever since I saw the back half of the PS.

Exactly, no right or wrong in aesthetics. Cliche as it is, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Truth: many non-car enthusiasts couldn't tell the difference between a Mustang or Camaro, Lamborghini vs. Ferrari, Vette vs. Aston...

What raises my eyebrow is when folks on a Ferrari chat board can't either - and are proud of that? These are car aficionados? More like poseur wannabes spouting nonsense.

There is a significant difference between a Ferrari 412 vs. an Opel Bitter SC; if one doesn't know, I'll give them 100,000 differences.

    awesome model!!!

    Congrats!

I couldn't help though but think it looks exactly like my model of the Mazda. Yes, I am legally blind. That's my excuse, others? I don't know. Maybe they don't get out much, so we have to be charitable, for many, pictures on the internet is all they have to go by when comparing cars.

Today Porsche announced the “new” Cayene Turbo GT which can not be sold in Europe due to emissions regulations.

I find this quite interesting, as we’ve been listening to the “last of” for a while, but you no longer can buy that model here… this will make the Purosangue even more special, as one of it’s rivals just disappeared

That’s like saying the Cayenne would be more special if Renault stopped making the Espace.

The PS is over double the price of the GT.

We have to remember that Paretos Principle is at play here in that 80% of people dont have enough of a creative eye to see anything other than the most basic, and the most extreme, shapes.

I had a nasty wake up call ~10 years ago when a new collectibles company popped up making horribly designed pieces with far too much random details. Such bad composition and so overwrought.

And they were immediately a huge hit with collectors talking about how cool all the details were and the 'dynamic' compositions.

I couldnt go as far into 'crap' as that company did, but I did start to tailor my collectibles close in that direction.

I was at a cars and coffee just after the Purosangue was introduced. There were several Ferrari owners there, people I know well enough, they own multiple cars, many Ferraris, Porsches, McLaren, Lamborghini, and other sports/ exotic cars. I just asked what they thought of the new Purosangue. I was expecting to hear negative/ skeptical things. How wrong I was. To a person, no one had qualified and they were all, each and everyone, drooling over the chance to get one. They wanted it so badly, it was like they would sell their beloved this or that car for it. I walked away very surprised. Them Ferrari boys and girls know what they’re doing.

The PS looks stunning and elegant. Absolutely day and night with a Mazda. And its performances are incredibly hot.

I will see and experience the PS in the flesh tomorrow. Can’t wait…
