Well, today I did it. I put the deposit down and ordered a bespoke Roma. First off, I have been lurking here and reading about all of your experiences and have taken into consideration much of what I have read and based on all of your help, I think I made great choices. Whether it was reading someone saying that all black interiors were a cop-out, to " ... if you want to walk on the wild side... buy a Ferrari" all gave me perspective.
I have never had a Ferrari, but have had many great cars, current being an M5 road missile, so looking forward to adding this to the stable and creating many memories.
I took my 13-year-old daughter with me, as she helped me on the M5 and we did the European delivery together. Here is my build:

    Blu Roma Exterior
    Shields on Fenders
    Liquid silver wheels
    Calipers in Oro
    Exhaust in Sport Aluminum

    Main Interior Color - Chocolato
Carpets - Nero - Coloured mats (Black with Cioccolato leather and Tortora embroidery)
    Marroni (brown ) Seat belts
    Tortora stitching on interior
    Tortora cavallino on headrest
    Cioccolato Lower cockpit zone
    Tortora leather cockpit inserts
    Cioccolato Steering wheel
    Tortora Inserts on seat bolsters
Nero Leather headliner ( this is interesting because it forces the top part of the doors to be black leather like the ceiling then the chocolate takes over in the middle, down to black carpeting. It all pops really nicely. )

    ADAS- Everything
    MADM - magnetic suspension
    Built in Garage door opener
    Premium Hifi (JBL)
    Foldable rear seats.

Now, it's the waiting game, but I live a little south of Tampa, so it's a year-round car for me. Can't wait to post some pics and meet up with some fellow enthusiasts. Thanks again, and looking forward to being a contributor here!

May the Horse be with you!

    (been waiting to say that!)

Congrats and welcome! No doubt, you’ll really enjoy the Roma. It just requires some patience during the long wait for it to arrive. That’s why you should always have at least one other Ferrari in the garage…so you’re never without while waiting for the new one to arrive:)

I am already feeling that way. I have been a Porsche devotee most of my life, and Ferrari is a new adventure for me. I have always loved the 550, 575 as well as 812 being my favorite currently, but seeing how having one while waiting for the next seems intoxicating. Looking forward to showing off the first one here and then what number 2, or 3 or... look like!

Very nice indeed. The only thing I personally always love to see is the LED steering wheel. That's the only option I would add to make it perfect ;-)

Counterpoint: I skipped the LED wheel in my Portofino and I'm really glad I did. I think it's an amazing bauble for a mid-engined car that's loaded up with carbon fiber, but for a front-engined V8 that's specced to be more of GT car it looks out of place (in my very personal opinion).

I went without the carbon wheel in that I specd a bit more upscale feel, in my opinion. Not that the led wheel detracts, I just felt the leather wheel looked better with my build and abstained from CF anywhere on the car intentionally. I agree with the above that it like great on race inspired cars, but for me, I felt it looked better and overall was a nice look.
I love how these all are some custom, or can be. I only put the majors on my post, but we spent almost 4 hours putting this together at the dealer to make it perfect. Can't wait to show some pictures

Waiting to get the call to go through the process, wondering how much I will enjoy it vs worry about getting it “just right.”
Agree- I will go for a GT, elegant and classic look. I will skip all carbon fiber (but I do like the tricolor on the paddles).
    Congrats!

I have always had the carbon wheel with lights on all of my modern Ferrari's and I was driving my Roma the other day and I really like it how I didn't get he carbon wheel.

It just feels so much softer and comfortable to use.

I get what you guys are saying. It's a GT and not a racecar. To me the carbon fibre steering wheel is still a plus, because it reminds me always that this car is very closely attached to motorsport, which is why I started to like the brand Ferrari.

When I went to spec my Roma, I chose the Tricolore on the shift paddles. I was told this could only be done with the carbon paddles, which necessitated switching my leather wrapped steering wheel option to the LED wheel. In the end, I did get the carbon steering wheel with the LED lights because I liked the shift paddle accents so much. I don’t regret my decision whatsoever.

I really like that we all are putting our own twists and passions into our Ferrari designs. While some may look at resale values, overall, i get that many of us are simply building a dream car, and that's really what Ferrari is. I took my daughter with me to order, because I was discussing with her that this day is a day that not many people on this planet get to enjoy. It is a day to be earned and enjoyed. I also told her that Jay-Z would play my funeral before I left her a dollar too, so she will have to work for everything she wants. :D Looking forward to more inputs form the group here!
