all of those tops are long gone... from both my dad and Straman unfortunately. We had a Daytona we needed a top for back in the day, we had to go buy one. wish they were still around.

And to think of all the parts we threw away in the day, that were worthless, and now are rarer
than hens teeth. Oh well :)

    Welcome back to f-chat Colleen!

Sorry to hear/read that, but as I previously mentioned, fortunately there’s still some experienced fabricators/panel beaters/restorers capable of making replacement tops and other coach work sections, perhaps even as authentically (ill-) fitting/formed as OEM. ;)

By chance, do you or your dad know where they all or most went ?
Some parts suppliers, like T.S., etc or scrap yard ?
You mention a needing one, back in the day. Was that to restore a cut car back to Berlinetta and if yes, do you by chance know if any others have been rectified ?
    Just curious.

Somewhere I saw a photo of stacks of Daytona tops leaning on a wall, just waiting for the recycler to come by.
Imagine all the rear / side glass!

Featured in Braden & Roush “DAYTONA” book and IIRC, photo taken in the backyard of E.A.R.
With at least (est.) 100-200 cut conversions done back in the day, maybe Straman, et. al. had their own “stacks” ?

No need to worry about the old/used Daytona Berlinetta glass though, I got them all covered, new. ;)

Is that the originally Azzurro Dino car built on 14283 ? He originally owned the second YSM delivered Azzurro Dino car as well but prior to that one. Even though the other matching blue coupe was also a 1971 it was a later serial number sold new to him by YSM.
The red paint was added later including the silver for the blood trough. However to their credit they did make the effort to paint the nose silver again as the factory did in May of 1971. Both the blue cars had black interiors but with grey carpet.
1982 was the FCA meet at Mosport. Yet another YSM delivered 1971 Daytona present that day at Mosport was Fly Yellow with a black interior. The owner told me he looked at half a dozen other Daytona coupe models but that was the best one with original paint he could find for sale. The yellow Daytona also featured the characteristic silver nose paint to.

It’s privately owned. Apparently it had been sitting for 17 years until this past month. A bit of oil and spark, she fired right up!

Thanks. Nice cars. Always wanted one, but that one looks to be a little long in the tooth.

Besides seven Daytonas we had about 4 or 5 250 GT Lusso, several 275 GTB's and GTS's, a superb Dino 246 GT in Giallo Senape (mustard yellow) and another one on Verde Germoglio plus a silvergrey one and a yellow 246 GTS, a bunch of Boxers, several 330 GTC's and Queen Marys and many others including a rare 330 GT Michelotti Coupé. The meeting today was the Annual Giro Classiche held by official Swiss dealer Niki Hasler AG for special VIP clients with classic Ferraris, it took place in the black forest area in Southern Germany. About 50 classic Ferraris participated.

Is the red 275 gtb in front of your gts a special gtb? Seems to have wider rear arches.

No, but probably 25 (twentyfive!) or more fixed radar stations alone while driving through Freiburg im Breisgau all limited to 30 km/h (18 miles!), therefore a massive two lane traffic jam for many miles. Whichever bicycling politician decides such nonsense should really rot in jail for the rest of his life. Limiting streets down to a 30 km/h speed limit and thereby creating extreme traffic jams for miles and hours.........it really doesn't get more stupid than that. The poor and lousy "excuse" for such madness is "noise protection" and "air pollution issues". Now exactly the opposite was achieved.
