Not discussed much here. Browsing around, see some older turn of the century full gold (including bracelet) watches in the low $20Ks or even high teens. Some of the designs seem quite nice visually. Other than being owned by Swatch (LOL), anything to be aware of? Are the bracelets full gold or filled/plated in some way?

Sure they are not as well thought of by collectors as PP, VC, AP, Rolex.....but are they on the next tier (L&S, IWC, etc)?

    Thanks

I've own several over the years, last one was the rose gold Breguet 3810 BR Type XXI Flyback. IMO one of the more under appreciated brands by the watch public, with some of the best bang for your buck watches. The bracelets are full gold as with the case and clasp/buckle. I put Breguet above IWC, JLC, GP, etc. and on par with H. Moser, Blancpain. L&S (A. Lange?) is on par with AP, Patek, VC and above Rolex in terms of watch making.

I’ve always liked their “coined” edges and asymmetric guilloche dials (reveil du tsar). I was told the reason Breguet isn’t considered in the trinity is that they’re French and not Swiss. AP and Rolex never did much for me.

I’m also a big fan of Blancpain’s underlug adjusters. My personal trinity is Blancpain (1735), Vacheron (1755), and Breguet (1775).

I would love a Breguet just because Winston Churchill's famous pocket watch was a Breguet.

One of the most beautiful dials is any Breguet with a power reserve indicator. I do not own a Breguet, but I do have 2/3 of the Trinity.

The two models I gravitate to are the Transatlantique and some Marine models.

I think my Aeronavale Type XX is one of the most beautiful watches made.

I believe that’s a 5327 but the crown is jeweled.

Daniel Roth designed the ‘new’ Breguet watches when Chaumet owned the brand, and now his brand is being reborn.

Hmm….the more of these I see the more they interest me.

My whole goal here is to buy a used full gold (including bracelet) premium watch to ride off into the retirement sunset. Would rather stick to a budget of $20-25k, which rules out the models I like from PP, AP, Rolex, VC.

An Omega for $37k…..where is this world going? LOL

I don’t think I’ll set my sights any lower brand wise than where I’m at now, so I either raise the budget or look at backup options (2 of which would be a bluesy half gold submariner or a Hulk sub in SS).

Is it that surprising though? Say what you will about Omega but they make some of the best watches out there.

The models with a full gold bracelet are the older Marine and Type XX, they'll be in the low-mid 30's, but everything is negotiable. If your looking under $25K, I'd suggest the Tradition models, a lot of watch for the $$, my two-cents. Happy hunting. :)

I love timepieces and have a nice collection (including many Rolexes), but no Breguet yet.

I’ve been looking at different Breguet models for some time, including with the moon phase. They are so beautiful, so majestic and they come with one of the best brand stories ever.
