I was wondering if anyone ordered an artura or even better, took delivery of it yet? I can't really tell why, but while I'm waiting for my 296 this car is growing and growing on me It would be my first mclaren but with 5 years of warranty it should be ok.
Nope, not even remotely interested. As weary as I am of Ferrari making a hybrid, I am 10x more weary of the gremlins at work in Woking. If I am going to get a daily McLaren hybrid (non-hypercar like the P1), then I'll wait for the Artura 2.0 (or whatever it's called). This to me is still Beta. And I do not want to pay for the privilege of being part of their beta testing process. No thank you.
I am not brand addicted and have an open mind when it comes to cars. Drove the Artura hybrid today and was not inspired. The Collection in Miami also had a 275 mile 296GTB for 529k. After you have had a Pista, its hard to settle in to one of these cars.
I drove it a few months ago when they did the test drive event. I didn’t love it honestly but I get how people would like it as an everyday driver. I had a deposit and would have been getting it soon but moved that to a 750 I was blown away by the 720 though. I thought it was superior to my f8 spider as for drive experience. I came close to getting one in silver Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I drove a pista in Vegas on track few weeks back, was disappointed frankly, they may have de tuned the car but it didn't feel much faster than my 458 and the sound was meh.
Pista is a complete different experience than a 458….I have driven different cars around the track and you really can’t reach the potential till you drive the car under different settings. Even in sport mode, you should have felt the raw potential under your seat. On the sound, the valves should have opened nicely when you punched it. And there are exhaust modifications if you really want to enhance the tone.
Your feeling of speed is subjective. Speed itself is objective. Your feeling is off as the Pista is objectively much faster than a 458. You realize that?
Evo and Supercar Driver did videos, and both of them had the Pista faster than the 720 at Angelsey. This is not a response to anyone here, but something I have been thinking of, because I keep reading that the 720 will blow an F8 or Pista out of the water on a track, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I know the F8 is heavier than the Pista, so I could see that, but the F8 also does have some suspension improvements over the Pista, correct? Depends on the track, maybe. The sound of the Pista in the EVO video is INCREDIBLE
You are exactly correct— 720S does NOT beat or kill the F8 OR the Pista— they are all so close that it is only driver dependent on which is faster by the tiniest margin. And yes, the F8 does have improved suspension, handling and side slip control over Pista…. And it’s only VERY little heavier- VERY little- like less than the difference of an average sized driver and a large one. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have driven my 488GTB about 30k miles since 2018. Tried an Artura for a day and was really disappointed. Brakes and sound are much worse than 488. F also felt more powerful. Interior does not make you feel special - the only thing I liked were the Comfort Seats (488: Racing seats). I don't see a single reason why to add an Artura.
It's odd because I've even seen people on here who have driven a 720 and an F8 (maybe they have been Spiders and not Tributo's so there was cowl?), prefer the 720. I am trying to unobjectively look at all the differences, but I don't see much in terms of performance, and the F8 looks much nicer on the inside for both the driver and passenger. The exterior is subjective, but the F8 is the much nicer-looking car, in my opinion. Neither sound like a Pista, but there are options for both. As well, I'm not even touching on reliability. I feel like I am missing something on the 720 that those who have driven one can point out because the F8 seems like to me, the much better car.
Because it is lighter, and the steering is more true as it is hydraulic. Sometimes when you get to this level of cars, it's not just about the numbers, but how the car feels underneath and around you. Having driven a 720 extensively on a track, and having owned both a 488 and now a Pista, the 720 drives like neither of the Ferrari's. Chalk it up to the carbon monocoque, which is where the weight factor comes in, as well as the hydraulic steering. Not saying the 720 is or is not faster than the Pista, just saying that's where the differences lie.
Again I agree with you both— just to me, ALLL the factors put together always point me to Ferrari over others… I don’t track cars and don’t even know how so those type of half second difference numbers don’t matter to me at all— it’s the whole feel and look of the cars in normal everyday south Florida cruising that matter to me. And Ferrari, especially F8, are just perfection for me. Sexiest car ever without being too flashy- and just amazing performance for my use and skillz Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thanks for your input! I can appreciate the love for hydraulic steering. It's actually one of the specs on the early Lotus Emira reveals that kept me interested in it before I ended up going with my GT4. As for the rest of the car, you still prefer the 720 all around than the F8?
