I wonder why it’s not available from factory then, I thought it was a technical limitation. Realistically they would have sold many more AF’s if only the lift was available.
if anyone has doubts, don't. This is it. It looks much nicer in high res photos. Not a huge fan of that spoiler though. Heard(not confirmed) is it an option.
Yes Ferrari said it is a technical limitation with the Multimatic dampers. I guess Novitec doesn't care if the lifter damages the dampers; it's not like they have to honour a warranty or something...
I owned the car for more than a year now, drove around 5000 km, used the car in most possible situations you’d want to use this type of car, participated in a cavalcade etc and at no point have I had any issues with the lack of front lift, if you approach at the correct angle you can clear pretty much everything. I have installed scrape armour under the front bumper and I have had zero issues so far no way I’d swap my AF pack for a front lift, no brainer.
here in WA state we don’t have hills. We have mountains and sharp angles and nasty things. Just getting out of my driveway, even at angles if I don’t use rhe lifter, it goes crunch crunch. Our place in nice, fr is also very jagged - if the car were there it would be equally bad news. Lift kit is required for me. ps even some speed bumps around here are stupid big and aggressive. The fire dept hates them too.
It always fascinates me when people say they don't need a lifter in a sportscar. In some places around here you need a Land Rover, not a lifter...
I’m afraid I have to agree. The AF coupe we have is brilliant but there have been occasions where I have needed lift but obviously don’t have it. The suspension is also too hard for some roads, like a 992 GT3. You have to persevere because on the good roads it’s sublime. But, we ordered a spider for a road trip car and went non-AF. It’s in build now. It’s not that the car can’t handle it but you feel like you’re making it do something it’s not comfortable with. And you’re also aware of how much you paid for this object that you’re rattling down a pitted road. It’s not enjoyable, even if it’s doable. If you’re happy to go slower on poor roads then enjoy the great ones, it’s as good or better than any car. How much less enjoyable the standard car is on those roads I’ll have to wait to see. I have the VS email so I’m interested to see what the spec on that car will be like.
Is the AF pack actually worth it on uk roads if you’re not tracking the car ? Presumably the standard car can handle the power etc to the extent you’re realistically going to push to on public roads ? wondering if the VS will have a ‘pack’ too
Yes the roads we have make you question ever buying a sedan let alone a sports car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It depends. If for a ‘going out’ car, it’s uncomfortable. If for a fast road/spirited driving car, it’s worth it. Depending on how much use you plan for each thing dictates how appropriate AF pack is.
Ah cool, I’m considering the vs (overs after release), it’s been ages since I bought a new ferrari and despite not being keen on the sf90 the vs has really caught my attention for a road / track car as the car in the leaked photo looks very focused
Any more info on the VS would be welcomed. Following this thread here. My dealership advised that I could be offered if I own a current SF90, lets see how it plays out!
Each Country might be different but an existing Assetto Fiorano SF90 owner is next in line after Top Clients (2) in UK dealerships.. then current SF90 or SF90 Spider on order must count.
I’ve had ZERO issues with my AF…in MN, the land of 10,000 potholes and endless road construction. Furthermore, I’ve actually had lower cars than the SF90. While I don’t know the areas you typically travel in, unless you’re dealing with speed bumps, steep declines or deep curbs, I think you’ll be just fine.
LA is bad, but manageable as far as dips . Have to know where I can’t drive! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
When you say must count - my SF90AF Spider is on order. On order - counts? I have never had AF SF90 goes in front of SF90 - is Ferrari choosing or is that the qualification then dealer chooses? TIA. Rumor has it there are fewer VS than 812C, wonder how many the US dealers are getting. 2 3 4?
As my UK Dealer DP and German Dealer DP told me the same independently a week apart, that’s why I posted. Back in May 2019 at Fiorano Launch of SF90 we were all sold the story of tick the £40,000/$70,000 Assetto Fiorano Pack as that will be the VS version. Full stop. I believe back then and before pandemic the SF90 XX had not been conceived or maybe it had. Moving forward the SF90 XX Clienti Car was canned due to being slower than FXX-K. Then on these forums rumours started saying the SF90 XX project was being recycled as a very hardcore VS version, the VS version that we were sold was our Assetto Fiorano option. For this reason people who ponyed up $70,000 higher up the pecking order, but no guarantee of a car I must add was told to me, but will be a + point. That will always come down to allocations, and to answer your question about less than 812 C & A, yes definitely fewer number combined in Coupe & Spider. Was told 1198 combined. Most importantly, this car really shouldn’t be considered the standard VS upgrade we have seen historically, that car is the Assetto Fiorano SF90, this new car is a totally different kettle of fish and will be amazing and priced accordingly and extremely sort after. Yesterday a friend called me, a serious Ferrari purchaser, saying he never received the email and went to see his dealer, to be told he doesn’t qualify as never bought an SF90, needless to say he was shocked and amused at the same time. Not going to spit out his dummy and will wait to see how everything transpires.
