Somewhat rare to find that many 330 GTCs in one location.

Patrick Ottis Company, clearly America's very best when it comes to V12 Ferrari engines from the late 40s to the 80s.
He started decades ago with Steve Griswold in Berkeley.
I can highly recommend Patrick Ottis, as well as his son Tazio Ottis, who races his father's 750 Monza #0510 M.

Marcel - are you in Berkeley or the area today or this weekend? Would be great to meet you. I’m picking up my 8833 today from Patrick. Funny thing is your picture is the first I’ve seen it with the Campagnolas and proper tires. I spent the last 2 years collecting wheels and getting them restored and had Patrick swap them on as part of my annual service. I’m keeping my original Borranis, but plan to drive on the alloys for awhile.

One of the best for sure.

I stopped by his shop about 10 years ago. The engines on stands being re-built, or waiting for a rebuild, probably added up into the $20+MM range when my eyes starting deducing just exactly was what...

I don't know the answer to this question...but my car (08833) is nero. It was born in a silver color (forget which, but have it in my Massini report) and painted to nero in ~1980, according to one of the previous owners I spoke to.

For the wheels, mine was born with Borranis (also according to Massini report), but I wanted to change it up for driving so I chased down Campagnolo 40414s and proper tires (XWX 205 VR14). When I bought it 7 years ago it came with XWX 205 70VR14s on it, which aren't the right profile). Ryan Pimental restored the alloy wheels for me and Patrick fitted them to the car as part of my annual service. Excellent service all around. I'm thrilled! Just took the car on a shakedown drive and then back home.

Thanks Marcel. I found that in my report later today. But I can’t seem to find any pictures of cars in that color - or at least that are confirmed as that particular 19249 medium gray. Any chance you have one you can share?

Got my car back. Rides great on the new tires. And got in Patrick’s queue for my next round of restorative work. Getting close to being fully original configuration. I like my patina’d nero though and don’t plan to repaint it. Still has the original nero Franzi/red wool interior too, as far as I know.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong place, but I cant seem to figure out how to send a PM to @Marcel Massini. Hopefully Marcel will see this. I had a few questions. How much will it cost for your report for a GTO Ferrari? What is the approx. turn around time for the report? Direct email to me is best: [email protected] thanks in advance...or if someone can walk me through the process to contact Marcel..Ron Miller

Grigio Medio 19249 was used 1963 to 1967. This is a Ditzler/PPG color. See Ditzler/PPG paint book.
    Chip #62, Ditzler Code 32497.
330 GTC #08833 is the ONLY one originally painted in Grigio Medio 19249.

thank you Marcel! Very interesting. If I were to try to repaint to that color finding a sample will be fun.

kinda cool that it was unique of the 330 GTCs though!

    Still seeking a 330 GTC.

Scruffy driver preferred over a concours car.

I still remember my first drive in one, 2013, drove up to MA to buy a 3500GT engine. That’s how you arrive to buy an Italian engine :)

While this ^^ should be placed in Classifieds as “Wanted”, finding one shouldn’t be too difficult.
Last time I checked (casually, not too long ago), there was and probably still is plenty available.

    Get in line! ;-)

I casually watch for these as well...but it eventually becomes apparent that one could quickly cost you more than a "better" 330GTC. Just like your first new home - "paint your way in!" Even on this forum, you can observe newer owners sorting cars that they thought were very good examples when they were first purchased...and that they paid good money for. Bubba lives, even in the Ferrari world!

Remember the age old adage in the collector car world "buy as good of a model as you can find".

I could financially "trade" the value of most of my collection to get one now...but do I really want to give up my accumulation of a 550, a Pantera, a DB9 and a DB7, a Superformance Cobra and a 65 Corvette convert just to have one prize car? Or give up the summer home? A chunk of retirement savings? The challenge keeps me waiting for a financial windfall instead. "Powerball please!"
