I know most Ferrari owners do not use their navigation systems but I would really like to be able to navigate to contacts that are in my phone (my Android phone's contacts sync to my Portofino via Bluetooth and all contacts including full addresses appear in the Portofino contacts list). Unfortunately, when I try to navigate to the address in a specific contact by pressing the address on the screen under the Phone tab, the Portofino's navigation does not recognize the house number so the system navigates to the street address but not any specific house number (so the system could take me anywhere along a given street). If the address in my phone is "123 Main St", they system will not even navigate to Main St, it will just have an error message. However, if the address in my phone is "Main St, 123" then it will navigate to Main St but it ignores the 123. Does anyone know the proper format to enter a contact into an Android phone in order for the navigation system to recognize the entire address including house number? FYI, if the navigation interface on the car is used instead of the phone contacts interface, then the system does navigate to an exact street address because there is a separate field for entering the house number in the navigation mode. The problem with using the navigation system to enter an address is that every address has to be manually input each time and that is why I am trying to use my contacts as the basis for navigating to the addresses in my contacts. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts or suggestions!

I shall give you a detailed answer when I drive my Porto next. But in the meantime, there are a few options you could try:
    1. Quite a few destinations are saved in the "Recent Destinations" tab. I use that quite often to go to destinations I have been to before. The list is quite long
    2. I am not sure whether "Favourite Destinations" is just one destination or a series of them. If more than one (which I think is the case) you could manually input the detailed address and store them there
I did not get ApplePlay and use the navigation system of the car quite a lot. Biggest irritation is that it does not show traffic in real time. My previous Porsche had traffic! Nor are there any map updates  . Otherwise wonderful car

Thanks for suggesting the two other options, those options would work if I can't find a way to use my phone contacts to navigate to an address that is already in my contacts. The problem is that I navigate frequently to many different addresses that are all in my contacts so it would be a pain to enter all the addresses manually (and then find them in recent destinations or favorite destinations once I manually input them). Totally agree that the navigation system's biggest flaw is failure to show real time traffic. Using my phone for navigation gives me a better ETA but often my reception drops out on my phone so navigation sometimes gets "lost" on my phone while when using the navigation system in the Portofino, it never drops out due to reception.

Hello. As promised I looked at the Navigation list in my Porto.
I have about ten addresses in the Favourites. However, I entered them manually.
The "previous destinations" list is much longer, about twenty or more and you can scroll through them quite quickly.
The good news is that when the phone is connected by bluetooth, you can go to your contacts in the phone menu in the main screen of the car and click on the address in your contacts. The navigation system then finds the route for you. You do not have to enter the details manually. This works only for the contacts that have an address attached to them; obviously, otherwise it cannot find anything to go to. In my case that is an iphone without carplay.
    Hope this works for you

Thanks, can you let me know what format you have the addresses stored in your phone? For example, 123 Main St. New York, New York 12345. That's the way I would normally have them in my phone for use in Google Maps but the Portofino does not accept the address that way (I get an error message when I try to navigate) which is why I have to change the phone contacts as follows in order for the Portofino to accept it but then the Portofino does not actually navigate to the actual house address it just navigates to the street but not the house address. This is the way I can get the Portofino to at least navigate to the street just not the house: Main St., 123 New York, New York 12345

I live in The Netherlands and use the format:
Line 1 - Street name, Street number,
    Line 2 - Postcode, Town
Line 3 - Country. This will presumably not be relevant to you but i have addresses in various countries in my phone.

I shall check again next time but am pretty sure the navigation planned the trip to the actual street number.

As I said earlier, this is based on the contacts in an iPhone, connected to the navi system via bluetooth and without Carplay.

Hope it works for you. Feel free to ask any more questions. Happy to reply

Did you ever have a chance to confirm that navigating to Street name, Street number takes you to the actual location rather than somewhere nearby on the street (maybe a few blocks away)? In the US with Android, Street name, Street number takes you to somewhere nearby on the street and if I reverse it to Street number, Street name it does not navigate anywhere and I get an error message. Thanks again for your assistance!

My apologies for the delay. I completely forgot to check this. Unfortunately i cannot check for the next few days as the car is at the dealer but will do so as soon as possible.

I checked yesterday in great detail.
When using my contacts in an Apple phone, it navigates to the street but NOT to the house number.
When using the previous destinations or addresses in the navigation system it took me CLOSE to the actual house number, but again, NOT to the actual house number. For some reason using the navi system's memory took me closer to the actual house number.

All in all, a pretty hopeless system. It does not have traffic information either. My dealer told me a few days ago that an update was available but he was not sure and would enquire what the update actually consisted of. Cost was about €1000  which strikes me as expensive for just an updated map, but I am willing to pay if it adds functionality like traffic and more precise navigation.

Perhaps you would like to check about this update and let me know what it entails. As soon as my dealer tells me, I shall let you know.

Thanks for taking the time to confirm that you are having the same problem. In the meantime, my dealer checked a couple of Portofinos and they all (or most, I'm not sure) have the same issue whether using Android or Apple. I am going to see if my software can be updated and see if that corrects the problem. I will let you know if it does. Thanks again for your assistance.

Please do let me know if there is any generic software update available. As I mentioned in my post, the dealer here (Netherlands) told me he thinks a map update is available but did not have any details and that it would cost about €1000. He also said it may be a generic update to all the software and will find out.
If I hear anything, i shall let you know.

Hi, I had the map update about 2 years ago. Also involved updating some of the general software (for the NIT). Didn’t give any real benefits besides updating the maps ie. No real time traffic info. I’m checking to see if there’s anything newer but so far seems not. Don’t think we’re meant to keep maps updated beyond 2-3 years as we’ll have moved onto a newer car! (or be using CarPlay).

Dealer updated my software yesterday, unfortunately it did not fix the navigation issue. Despite the software update, I can't tell that anything was changed.

Did you have to pay for the update. Do you know exactly WHAT was updated? Is traffic information now available on the navigation software?
    Questions, questions

Free update because still under warranty. No live traffic and no changes that I can identify. Dealer said no change log was available so it's a mystery as to what if anything changed.
