Just stopped by my local F dealer to see what I might be able to order, if anything? Was told Roma Spider full stop. They said they have no allocations for any other current model.

I currently drive a Lamborghini Huracan Evo so forgive me if this offends anyone, but I would consider that a major downgrade.

He told me to just wait and see whatever gets announced in the next year or two and then call him to order as soon as it's official.

Ive seen the spy shots of a few upcoming cars but it seems like the only one that might be a general release is the 812 replacement (assuming thats a general release car?).
Anything else in the pipeline for new Ferrari customers? Are they already working on a 296 or SF90 replacement? I cant order the SF90VS/LM obviously. I assume any 296 variant will also be restricted to current owners and dealer vips?

    What's a guy to do?
Im on the list for the Revuelto but having second thoughts based on the overall looks of it.

Um, just buy a preowned one of anything you like.. why are you trying so hard to get on a list for something new?

I’m on my 3rd Ferrari over 18 years, Know my dealership well. Am in the car business. Almost went to work for my Ferrari dealer on a couple occasions. Have a great relationship with them…. And I seriously doubt I’d be allowed to get on a new car order list… have never tried but doubt I’d be able.

Why in Gods name would you want either of those cars ? You have deep pockets, so buy an F40 , and thats all you will ever need. If it has to be something new, the F8 is the best car to come out of the Ferrari factory in years. The SF is just plain ugly, and useless in my estimation, and the 296 is right beside it.

Bro if you have a wallet you can buy a ferrari, i have f8 and on 296 list.
If your cool and can afford one they sell it to you. Or put you on the list most idiots try to push the dealer around, its a scarce asset and Ferrari wants a long run relationship. I got 2011 gt3 rs same way its about trusting the relationship.
You cant low ball them its a Agip but thats how all good things are

I would start your relationship with the dealer by buying something used to start with, that will at least get your foot in the door. If you don't start now, you'll probably be the last guy getting a call for a new model. Beyond that, wouldn't it make more sense to get something you actually like rather than just getting the newest?

It’s not that you are being vetted, its much more simple than that, there are no allocations to offer you ( or anyone else for that matter ) it has nothing to do w/ money nor relationship, there are none to sell.
Even the Roma spider allocations are going quickly.

Ferrari’s current business model makes it so first timers can put down their deposit on production vehicles, then work through the traditional process of designing, paying additional deposits, as production
Progresses, and so on. That in and of itself is why Ferrari are pre-sold so many years out.

Special models, while also sold out, having said long term relationships, and substantial funds do help considerably.

Your salesperson was shooting you straight, pay attention to the upcoming release news, take them lunch, stay on their radar, and be there with deposit in hand, the hour orders open, and you may get one.

Even the Puro FUV sold out in a matter of hours, triple the number of buyers wanted one, first come, first serve.

    Good Luck,

    S

p.s. If you can, get a Roma Spider, spec it your way, and enjoy it for what it’s designed to be.

That was the plan. Had a spec all picked out. Took my wife for a test drive and she hated the car. Picked up the evo instead.

I liked the looked of the 296 GTS tbh. I dont like soft top convertibles so I got the evo in a coupe. Was looking for a hardtop convertible option when I went to the dealership. The guy was straight up and I appreciated it no complaints there, was the same place that offered me a Roma back then and they did offer me the Roma spider, but again it's a soft top convertible.
Both 812 and 296 GTS options are obviously off the table now. Just wanted to know if there were any prospects coming down the pipeline without me having to buy used unless flipping for some sort of special edition was the only option there.

Used prices are little pumped up right now it seems? Correct me if Im wrong on that, but seems like theres a significant markup on used cars compared to where they "should" be.
It's one thing to buy a new car and take a 100k depreciation hit on day 1, but Im seeing used Ferraris and Lambos selling for over original MSRP right now, which is a tough pill to swallow.

As I stated above, the order books are filled thru 2025. If you wait for the next car release which could be in 2024 the order books will be filled thru 2027. Enjoy what you have or pick up a pre-owned car.

it depends on how much you want a new one, imo the time isn't right to build a relationship now because by the time you'll be considered to have a special edition car then it'll be EV time and the market won't be the same etc

to get a really special car like the 812C which trades £1m over list isn't easy anyway and lots of buyers with great histories weren't offered one

    Thanks, this is helpful.

I guess Ill keep an eye out for good deals on gently used models instead. Hopefully prices come back down to earth on those with interest rates where they are and a possible slowdown of the economy.

There are plenty of CPO and 2022 cars on the market that the dealer will gladly sell you. 2021-2022 Romas are going for almost MSRP. Sure you don't get to spec it exactly how you want it but it's still an almost new ferrari and gets your foot in the door, relationship-wise.

You can also put your name down on the soft list and whenever an order/allocation drops out they will assign you to it

IMO if you're looking for a bargain, the best ones right now are used F430, 360 modena, 456/M/GTA, and 612's. FF and Lussos are great daily drivers too and the latter ones still have 7 year maintenance warranty and same current-gen interior as portofino, 812. etc.

It is possible to buy a used Ferrari, finance through Ferrari. Then maintain a good relationship with the dealer and periodically let them know you are interested in a new car and to call you if one comes available. People do back out of new car orders. People even get banned for breaking contract and flipping, so even though they are sold out for 2-3 years cars do come available. I don’t think you will be getting that phone call when they do.

Pretty normal to buy a pre-owned first before you can get a slot to order something new.

New builds are 2 years out in most cases anyway
