What great V12 were in the 80s vs the V8s ? You don't get much better than the 288 GTO or the F40. What great V8s were in the 70s vs the V12s If anything the 70s should/ could have a V6 and be a final salute to the Dino. You don't get much better than the 365 Daytona's 512BBs etc unless you go V6 with the Dino.
I mean in the 1980s the best Ferraris were V8 powered. That design DNA from the 288 and the F50 could really help to create an amazing 1980s icona
I understand your argument. About the SP4: It should be noted how emblematic the launch of the 308 was in the 70's, and its historical relevance. So who knows... The modern reincarnation of the 365 Daytona has already been made. It was the 550/575M. If the F167 will be the basis of the SP5, and the first project of the F167 had a mid-rear engine, maybe that project will be used in the SP5. And still on the SP5, it is worth noting that prototypes and concept cars are also used as inspiration for the Icona. So who knows...
I am well aware that they have used concepts and prototypes as inspiration. Any Ferrari fan could not miss the P5 DNA in the rear of the SP3 as a single point of ref. 550/575 in my opinion were horrible and a bad reincarnation of the 365 Daytona. 96 was also along time ago now. While the 308 is important it is not on the same level. To bypass the 288 GTO and F40 would be an epic mistake. The F40 the last car pass the great Man himself. The 70s have lots of options and I am happy with any of about 5 different base roots they could go with. but the 80s has to be those. my 2 cent of course and time will tell. In your 2 cents what would they use for inspiration for the 80s with a V12 ?
The 84 Testarossa was a mid rear Flat-12. As you said about the 365 Daytona, "already Been done" well the name has. Taken from the gorgeous front engine V12 classic of the 50s the 250 Testa Rossa. The 84 Testarossa had a Design you loved or hated too. JC said the original 84 Testarossa looked like a dog and the Mondial was its dinner. But all that aside to pick it over that of a 288 or an F40 that is bat **** crazy if they go that way.
All good. I know and I ask for for your 2 cents, those car just don't add up to me but that my 2 cents.
My dealer told me Friday that the requirement to have ordered a AF package to be eligible or even prioritized for a VS is absolutely not true. I guess we’ll see.
Oh, I don’t think I will. I’m only on my second Ferrari, and my SF90, which will be my 3rd, hasn’t even arrived yet. But there are higher status owners than me with SF90s without AF that I think should. I hope they do.
I kind of agree about wings but I have to confess that this looks pretty good to me so maybe I don’t mind wings as much as I thought I did…
In photos not a fan of the rear.. not so much the wing more the light bar strip lighting, wished for more conventional LaF rear lights. See it next week and probably eat my hat and love the rear..

The spy shot is pretty clear. Maybe not 100% however it appears a 99.9% certainty. Also it was originally going to be an FX car. They all have fixed wings.
