Here at Laguna Seca. Qualifying about to start
I saw some of the Miata race....Hate the new runoff extended areas...changed the track/line completely.
That was a pretty crazy crash happened right in front of us Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was Jarrett Andretti's fault. I turned it off as there's now 20 minutes of yellow flag.... 40 minutes of 'racing'...football for the 1st 10 minutes, then a 20 minute caution.
I think that Laguna is just too short for that many cars. I think that they should split the field and run separate races for prototypes and GT cars.
it's basically next year's IndyCar package (2.4l V6 with hybrid system), with an F1 ECU pretty cool crossover between the 3 programs https://racer.com/2022/08/29/hondas-new-imsa-powerplant-has-indycar-roots/ https://www.racecar-engineering.com/articles/acura-arx-06-lmdh-prototype/
Great information! The engine design is a “mono” block with no removable heads. Thanks for sharing this.
to be honest they've changed their minds so many times I lost count https://www.autosport.com/indycar/news/why-indycars-engine-backtracking-is-causing-widespread-frustration/10437984/ looks like it's 2.2 (current engine) with hybrid next year, 2.4's at some point beyond that (?)
I actually really like the sound of the BMWs. They could be a little louder though. I missed the race last weekend. Will have to watch it on YouTube when they upload it.
Interesting that the pole laptime in Laguna Seca round in ALMS back in 2007 was 1:10.528 for the Porsche RS Spyder Evo, which ran in LMP2. The pole time for the Porsche 963 over the weekend was 1:14.774. Hardly seems like progression.
