Why are you guys so triggered by this guy, what did he say exactly that was so terrible? You guys are the ones that went at him and caused it to turn into something contentious....what because he's young and claims to have money? Does that make you feel insecure about yourself so you have to try and knock him down? I always thought the stereotypes about exotic car owners were a silly joke until i owned one and started hanging around here, you guys perpetuate all of them.
Trigggered? Not at all. I come to Fchat for both entertainment as much as constructive automotive conversation. This thread had both to begin with. That dude, in Post 46, went on some irrelevant tangent that applied to neither. Be it internet troll, or some attempt at a real point of discussion I fail to see the value on this particular thread. If he wants to control his own discussion and the hilarious fallout that will ensue, pay for the Silver or Rossa access and go to town. BTW why are you speaking for him?
The biggest offenders are 1) mustangs 2) bmw owners and 3) tricked out Japanese cars. The answer is "yes" and "it goes with the territory"
Why did you decide to chime in towards him? Spin it however you want but you guys are in the wrong, you guys incited it. It's a discussion forum and that's what he decided to discuss in regards to the topic. It's a tangent for sure but he's saying that it's not necessarily envy which causes people to act the way they do as the cars we drive have become attainable, then 5 different guys went at him like he insulted their entire family tree and you decided to join in. What "value" is it to the thread asking him what ferrari he owns? An obvious attempt to knock him down to make yourself feel better towards what he said. Curious as to what you find to be "hilarious fallout"? Because where I'm sitting the only hilarity in this thread is the sad fallout of telling a bunch of burned out insecure old men that young people can also afford their cars which is why you guys all decided to try and talk down to the guy.....
Typically that is what I do...once in a while they will get behind me and ride my backend...for a minute then realize they rearend a Ferrari....
Apparently you don't own a Ferrari, none of your posts are about a Ferrari, you ask no questions nor state an opinion about a Ferrari, and to top it off you are offending long term knowledgeable Ferrari owners, why TF are you here?
There's nothing quite like seeing someone lecturing a Ferrari forum about their "full earning potential" and talking "$/hr" or "$/wk" in the same breath. Please tell me you literally punch a clock 5 days a week. That would be just sublime.
bingo, love that you have comprehension. If they’re that easy to trigger? So be it. My favorite part was when my wife was compared to a stripper, hilarious. “Punching a clock and keeping the infrastructure running for everybody how dare they!” Yes, the audacity. full earning potential? Time to take your meds dad, you’re getting lethargic again.
Over the 38 years of ownership, I find that most of the time the car next to me revs up to get my attention; they then tell me how much they like my 1980 black 308 GTBi...Lots of raves and zero offers to drag. What bothers me most is when someone roars by and realizes he/she passed a Ferrari and dramatically slows so they can try to grab a photo opportunity or give a big thumbs up before roaring off again. A Ford GT is a great choice! There's lots of appreciation for it here. As always "the search bar is your friend," but you might want to start with this classic thread of owners sharing their experiences: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ford-gt.356121/ As you start your nascent journey into the world of exotic cars, you'll find that owners typically have examples of multiple brands. Those petty little Ford vs Chevy or Honda vs Nissan feuds are not what you'll find here. Enjoy your entry to a new hobby, and be sure to check out your regional subforum as well for local meets - you'll find the Ferrari crew will welcome you no matter what you pull up in, if you have a sincere interest in discovering more about the marque, or just hanging out with other enthusiasts. And to get the thread back on track, I'm sure you'll find others who want to race you at lights once you get your Ford GT! How do you think you'll respond?
Actually, I've had more issues with crapboxes than with actual sports cars. The funniest one was an AMC Gremlin that wanted to race my Alfa GTV-6. I just gave him my "seriously?" eyebrow expression and let him smoke off --- for a half a block before he trashed his mill.
My first sports car was a 73 MGB. I thought it was pretty fast. One day a guy in a crappy VW bug pulled up next to me and wanted to race. So I hit the gas -- and lost badly. Ooops.
I guess it depends on which hamburger shack. Is it the one on 5th Street, or do you mean the tie store?
Thank you for the information, and I'm glad to see this forum isn't just bias towards Ferrari's. I originally came here to research. I myself have always enjoyed Ferrari as a brand, and ideally, I didn't really realize until as of recent how much more affordable they have become. 458s with 13k miles going for 215k, ETC. I think the most expensive I've found were the SF90s for 700k, but they're pretty much the hot new thing. I myself won't buy new, I'm not that well off to throw away the money. If this insults anyone (any of the context), FML. As for the Ford GT, I honestly haven't decided the purpose just yet, other than garage/own. I don't see myself out and about in town much, rather than taking it on a trip far away through the mountains, and off alone, basically my therapy. Of course, if I were at a light, and a Mustang or some other typical brand attempted to race, I don't think I'd partake personally. I think what I realized when purchasing my 14 SS back in 2016, you sort of realize mostly everyone else is driving regular gas savers. I mean, prior to purchase I felt like I had seen sport cars all the time, and then after purchase it was as if I had entered an alternate world where everybody had normal stuff, and here I am with long tube headers sounding like an ass 90% of the time. Now that I've matured, my choice of taste would be to "wear." and not to race. I'd never dog a Ford GT, unless I had the cash for a second one, and then of course I'd need a 3rd. Cars to me in the category, are purely Art. Sophisticated well designed machines, and I'd hate to abuse one (even if of course they were designed to be driven hard). You see Andrew Tate smoking in his Bugatti, and sure if I had $500M, I would put 150k miles on one too. But, in my realistic regular life it'll be a weekend warrior at best, and likely something that I just stare at for hours on end, mesmerizing myself, is this really mine? I don't trust individuals, and it wouldn't be something I'd even want to park/leave. Maybe through time, that feeling will wane, and it'll just become a "car." People think the Camaros were built to run hard, and I was replacing Axles, a driveshaft, and numerous other mechanical parts through my time of ownership. I wasn't impressed with it, because it seemed like Chevrolet put the power in it but decided to really skimp out on the drivetrain which drove me nuts. If I were road course racing, Ariel Atom. Light to Light, hate to say this, Tesla Plaid. There are people from all walks of life who enjoy variety, I know a retired baseball player who seriously only buys Chevys and he's worth a pretty chunk. Has to have the new Zl1 every year.
Well analyzed and yes, it all starts with what you actually would an exotic car for? The ‘why’ is most relevant to what and if you should buy. Track? Flash? Just the thrill of owning? Investment? Cosmetics? Passion? Heritage? Etc etc - decide why first, then choose based on affordability/thrills Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
