F355 Market

Completely bizarre.

 

I though I saw it on their site yesterday. But at may age?????

Upon closer inspection the leather color on the dash looks off to me. It might have been recovered with a new leather. Our leathers are very difficult to match. I also do not see “airbag” etched on the passenger airbag. There is also a large line marred on the leather. Someone should take a look at the car in person before purchasing.


If recovered, I would use it as a bargaining chip for a discount. Black upper dashes can be found from crashed cars. It’s common. The passenger airbag… well, there’s one on Yahoo Auctions Japan I linked earlier for $4k.

The upholstery work on the upper dash doesn’t look OE quality to me.

Okay, my turn to chime in...

The Blu Swaters GTB does belong to our local Porsche dealer in London, ON. However I have the car in my possession on consignment on their behalf (@thedragasautogallery) as I do with all their Ferrari products among our own which you can see on our social media feeds and auto trader as well.

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post the auto trader ad here on he forums without being a sponsor (which if an admin is reading, please reach out I would be happy to sponsor)

Plenty more detailed photos there, and I would be happy to engage and answer questions here or via pm and can send link to car there.

In person inspections welcome, any particular photos I can acquire etc. Among a collection of manual transmission Ferraris including a host of 355 examples.

 

I shudder to think what would happen if I put my 1995 F355 Challenge up for auction on BaT...

It's been on its roof at Lime Rock Park and was hit several times when it raced. It's five shades of yellow...maybe six.

I'd probably have to pay someone to haul it away.

Indeed it's not there. We didn't have it commissioned, the car arrived to us that way, with what appears to be fresh leather on the upper portion of the dashboard. Nicer than factory in my opinion, but correct that the 'AIRBAG' is not embossed on the passenger side.

But yes it almost has a blue Grey hue definitely off a little bit. Good catch on airbag.

This upper dash looks decent .

Never. Last true, classic Enzo Ferrari. Probably the only 1 owner 1985 308 GTB QV in the USA and original, with the exception of a front clip repaint, down to the 38 year old tires. Yes, I said original tires. Some how they could make tires that didn't dry rot back then. Hard as nails though.

For $20k more, that could’ve been a 1 owner 288 GTO .

 

More like $35. Back in the day you could negotiate with Ferrari dealers on 308. Especially when they had sold their inventory and were trying to find unsold cars from other dealers. Nobody bought a 308 GTB back then. They all wanted to be Magnum PI.

Remember, always buy what's out of style because sooner or later it will be the latest style.
