I have a 1995 F355. It has some paint issues I'd like to get touched up, but I'm wondering if it's going to hurt the resale value?

The paint around the driver side mirror pod is bubbling, as is some of the paint on the little piece of metal at the rear of the door / window joint. My detail guy says it's not rust, it's because it's aluminum and paint has a hard time bonding to aluminum. Additionally the front bumper cover has a fair number of rock chips and the usual scrapes from driveway entries.

Would repairing the two trouble areas, and re-spraying the front bumper cover (and applying PPF) hurt the value much over a fully original car?

This is common with Ferraris and other cars with aluminum bodies… my F430 had the same bubbling on door by window seal and my F8 has one spot under the hood already— the F8 is under perforation warranty and they’d replace the hood BUT I don’t think I wanna do that for the same reasons as your question… might just leave it.

As for yours, I don’t think repairing those area will hurt you in resale. Document it before and after etc… especially the front bumper as that is quite common— have it done perfectly of course by a real pro… and for sure, PPF the car (not just the bumper) when finished

This is the front end, way back when ACH was still open. It was my first time out and I think I had the shocks in comfort mode lol

Anyways, you can see the bad front end scrapes.

I seriously doubt it would effect value. It shouldn't. We're talking a 28 year old car here.

My F430 had some bubbling in the aluminum that I had to have stripped down and repainted. It weird. Almost like rust cancer, but obviously not rust.

I doubt it. It won't show up on car fax. Maybe they find out if they take a paint meter to it. Even then you are doing them a favor by repairing.
