Who has high mileage 360/430!!!! I'm about to cross 20k on my 360. Thank God I am from Europe where I think this is cool and mileage (with maintenance) actually makes the car cooler vs here in the USA where people will have a seizure when their Ferrari crosses 10k miles!!! Here we save the supermodel for the next guy! Not where I come from!!! ;)

Who here has SERIOUS miles on their 360/430? Post some pics! Any serious issues or all good with regular maintenance?

There’s a guy local to me that has close to 200k miles on his F430. Tracks it regularly too. Has gone through six factory headers because he prefers to keep everything oem.

Yeah argument both ways for headers, nice piece of mind with my new capristo headers but definitely sounds different from stock and I think I prefer stock sound !

Nice looking axe. Agree, irony is that Ferrari is actually less headache over time when driven regularly.

    Thanks!
I've had the engine completely rebuilt, the transmission rebuilt, the suspension rebuilt, the stereo system rebuilt and am currently swapping out the seats for Daytonas.

Were the rebuilds done due to failure or were you updating things?

I didnt do most of it :D bought it last year with 61k on it. There's nothing scary in the service history - just the usual (brakes, tyres, annual servicing etc). It was overdue for a belt change so I had that done before I bought it. There is no documented clutch replacement over that mileage either, which is a very long time for a clutch to last if you believe the internet!

When/why did you rebuilt engine? Can you share cost/time it took? What made you do it?

I've had the car for over 18 years, so this will not be a short story.
Shortly after I purchased the car, I bought a Capristo level 2 exhaust system. I paid Ferrari of Los Gatos to install the exhaust system. They installed the exhaust incorrectly, and every time the car warmed up, the back of the exhaust would bang against the framework behind it. I personally removed the exhaust, did some slight modifications to the cat side openings (so they would clear the weldments on the cats for the O2 sensors), took the Capristo stainless mounting bracket to a machine shop and had them elongate the mounting slots, then reinstalled everything. It worked perfectly. However, back then I did not know that you could unbolt the overflow coolant tank without disconnecting the hoses. I also didn't know that the coolant system would not self-bleed the air out of the system like a conventional front engine car. So when I disconnected, then reconnected the overflow coolant tank, I inadvertently induced air into the system and didn't know to bleed it out. Another time I removed the coolant tank to have it powder coated, inducing more air into the coolant system. I can't remember the details, but I removed the tank another couple of times for some reason. Then one day while on a very spirited drive, I watched the coolant tank explode in my rear view mirror. My water temperature gage was pegged. I let it cool down, put some water in the car, had the tank welded back together, and the car ran perfectly for years after that. However, the heat cycles allowed the head bolts to be reduced in torque ever so slightly, so one day while driving normally, I pushed out one of my head gaskets. Just a little breach in one of the corners of one of the heads. But at that time I had already had 70,000 miles on the engine, so I had the cylinders honed, new rings, all new bearings (crank, rod, etc.), new oil pump, had the heads milled 11 mils, 5 angle valve job, new belts, everything. The car has crazy horsepower now (because of the milled heads) and has been running perfectly for almost 40,000 miles now.
I had two intercooler failures. The first one was bad. The coolant got into the transmission and washed all the lubricant off of the bearings and synchros. This necessitated a transmission rebuild. I caught the second intercooler failure almost immediately, so no damage was done. The suspension parts just wore out after 100,000 miles. I've had many belt changes, tire changes, brakes, etc.
    Hope this helps someone.
