Hi there, I have ordered a 296GTS and would like to go red, my 488GTB was grigio silverstone, which I liked alot. Now I am totally confused which way to go. RC is nice without sunlight, but a bit boring in bright sun. Imola is the opposite, in the sunlight nice, but it has shades I don't like. AND: the 296 is a much softer car than a 488 pista/458 speciale. Rounder and in my personal opinion if the color goes to the soft side, I do not like it. I think the 296 needs a bit more of a "bad guy" look. I saw MrJWW old 458 speciale which is in Rosso fiorano. I like this darker shade on the speciale in rosso fiorano, but the reds can be nice on one car and not so good on others. So, what is your opinion about I strong red color ? Thank you so much in advance !!
I personally think the 296 looks better in darker colors but if I would go red I would pick Rosso Scuderia with nero interior.
I agree that Imola is better in sunlight and can appear a bit dull in the shade. That said - I went Imola as I feel the metallic suits the curves and lines of the 296 and looks more sophisticated for a daily driver (and the softer nature of the 296, as you mentioned). That all said the 296 looks great in Rosso Corsa and photos don’t do it justice in my opinion. I don’t feel you can go wrong with either just depends on the character you’re looking for.
Thank you, RC has the advantage of the price, when saving the 12K€ for Imola there is alot that you can add to the spec.
Yes to Rosso Corsa a natural for the 296. Image Unavailable, Please Login With no metallic; a very pure color and as noted more money for other goodies like carbon parts and the desirable AF handling package.
I'm ordering mine in black (NERO DS). I think it fits the car perfectly and I always wanted to have a black Ferrari one day. I had a 488 in Rosso Corsa with bicolor black roof and my F8 is Rosso Corsa. My F430 was Rosso Scuderia and was amazing so if I would need to order a 296 in red it would be RS.
Because this car is smaller and its curves are very smooth creating wonderful reflection a bright color is very attractive. A bright red is the way to go. Dark colors hide the great shapes this car has.
I had Coburn on the stripe on my Pista and I loved it in direct sunlight but in shade it can be quite dark and underwhelming IMO. It’s a color you need to see in natural light to make a decision on rather than under dealership / artificial light. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thank you, that is an important issue, I will try to get a colour sample to test it in different light conditions
I really did not like the 296 in flat Rosso corsa. Very boring. Does not show off the curves at all. Massive difference with the metallic reds. I’m going Imola on mine hoping to add some TM exterior touches. It’s a very classy metallic red.

Call me crazy but I’m starting to love Taormina. I think Ferrari did it a disservice by showcasing it with black wheels and all the bright red “decals”. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I understand your point, thats why my alternative would be Canna di fucile/Grigio silverstone, because a little darker und metallic would add beauty. But what is "TM" (sorry, no native speaker) ?
Actually I love this color. Do you know how much they charge for this ? And you are right, I would go with grigio wheels und black calipers and without the red lines.
Rosso Scuderia! I ordered my GTS in scuderia. I have a GTB in corsa. I think people have been swayed by the launch colour Imola. The truth is a red Ferrari will always look amazing ! Especially Scuderia!!!
TM is short for the special 'tailor made' service that offers special materials and color choices to exclusive Ferrari clients. It is limited by the strong demand that has overwhelmed the factory capacity to build custom Ferrari models in a timely fashion. Ferrari farms out much of this custom work so it doesn't slow normal production. TM can easily add a year to the completion date for a Ferrari build depending on how complicated the custom order is.
