Log for any SF90 faults & technical problems

Haven’t had the high voltage failure, but have had the motor control system failure. Software update fixed that and seems to have fixed the nagging Bluetooth connectivity issues with my iPhone. Interestingly, I got the WLM failure message again after closing my roof. In checking with the tech, it’s definitely not White Lives Matter…but rather something related to the operation of the top. Second time I’ve noticed this in the 1,300 miles of ownership.

I hope they get yours sorted quickly.

 

Thanks for the info. Is there a way to check that they installed a new software and not just have done a reset? Since you drove only 1300 miles (most owners dont drive that much), it could be also a strategy of ferrari (dealers) to just reset faulty software and hope it comes up only every 2000miles (which will be 1-2 years of driving).

Today I brought mine to the dealership and via the Ferrari connectivity App I saw, that 2 hours later, the Motor-Control Error is gone. So this is clearly a „quick“ reset.

I plan to do 5000miles/year, so that wont work with me. If it comes up a second time within 3 month, I will get my money back via the lawyers for sure…

Well…yet again, my ‘22 AF spider has the Engine Control System Failure.” The car has less than 1,400 miles and has now been in for system related issues too many times to recall. I’ve grown tired of the near constant problems with this car and am giving one last chance to remedy the issues, before having my attorney’s step in. Such a shame and disappointment, because when it works, it really is a wonderful car to drive.

Anyone who’s been through the lemon law process and willing to offer experiences and/or advice, please PM me. TIA!

 

mine is back. they said something about control-unit of the battery and motor misscommunicating and fixing it with re-directing inputs (?). Sounded like a simple reset. I will wait and see. if it happens again within the next 2000miles, the car will be retourned (via lawyers if necessary) for good. It would be a shame, since its such an excellent drive☹️

 

Lots of smoke came out when I fire up the engine after I used all the battery on the road.

Had to pull over and call emergency pickup.

Lets see what it is all about. No flame so I guess oil or coolent leak or such.

Car will be back on the road tomorrow.

Oil went into intake that caused smoke.
Cleaned and oil drained a bit. Service said sometimes this happens but we don’t have to worry about as of now. If this happens again(I hope not), maybe a bigtime engine fix will be needed.

Well it is not hybrid related and actually hybrid saved the hasstle of event since I can pull over to the right place(proper parking lot) for service pickup with battery only.

All of these new cars are plagued with problems, I don't think this is just Ferrari based on my recent experience.

 

My SF90 Stradale instrument cluster just went black and blank. I can still drive, but nothing shows up, even the passenger display. Anyone here dealt with this problem before and how did you resolve this issue. It's been bugging me the past month. Appreciate any advice and suggestions.

 

Owning a Ferrari in a country without a Ferrari dealer and service was a bad idea. Can only rely on these forums for any help.

 

I’m in line to get the Z06 Corvette and they are having quite a few problems as well.

 

My brand new 992 gts DOA. Working on buyback now. The older cars are looking more appealing everyday.

Knock on wood, toes crossed and prayers to the Ferrari God’s each night before bed…but since the last service visit and software update in late June mine has been great. In fact, even the Bluetooth issues seem to be resolved.

 

As said in the movie Taken "Good luck " Mate its hard for my mate owning a Ferrari in Tasmania just over the water from Australia. Oh boy

 

had this issue before the other issue (see above). it resolved by turning the car off and waiting for a couple if hours. but shortly after, all the rest happened (drive control error). good luck!

 

So I get these fault codes on track and check engine light came up.
Dealer check they say they fixed it but today on my second track-day I had the same codes.
Car drives fine, didn't felt anything different.
Anyone had a similar problem?

So you only have those in the ferrari connect app? I would take any warning (especially when shown on the car display) seriously and get in touch with your dealer.

It’s not Ferrari app I check through OBD scanner.
Those Faults not a major i think it’s from Hybrid interface control module and the code is for any
Poor electric connection or shorted, they say they checked before when i send the car to them but sound like bad plug to me i will tell them to change the connectors.
