Pilot sports Spain or Germany I think but a Michelin tyre made in China is not the same as a Chinese brand tyre and you know that :)

All they have to do is handle well in wet and dry and have an amount of reasonable wear.

Lets just cast our memories back to the early '60's and see what folk thought of Japanese cars,I get that you won't buy one, but the quality back then to now has gone ballistic.

As Rob has said and I and others will concur,Toyota now make one of the world's most bankable cars.
Ask any bushie what the most reliable 4wd is in the scrub, indeed ask Pat why he's been buying Toyo daily drivers for how long?

Honda? all their various racing results ,and now Toyota in LeMans, speak volumes.

Mazda, taking a German unreliable piddly little chainsaw sounding engine and making it their own with massive results.

Your elitism is shining through mate, there is another Asian invasion already here...get over it and stop trying to argue and bicker! :)

    You're confusing your Asians FFS :D :D :D

I don't recall Japanese cars ever being considered bad quality, all better than what Aussie could make. I've had multiple Subarus and they've been some of the best cars I've owned. Never missed a beat.

It's my Fchat given right to argue and bicker, the point being you guys buy tyres based on price and not perceived quality. which is fine buy c'mon don't bring quality into it.

Now I think you need to apologise to all Japanese out there for confusing them with Chinese :)

    Wrong Simon.

The Chinese manufacturing and work ethic is not the same as the Japanese manufacturing and work ethic.

The Chinese have been the world's factory for nearly 3 decades and its still synonymous with inferior quality.

Japan went from decimated country (1945) to number 2 economy (1968) in 23 years and a country with a peerless reputation for quality. Its in their DNA.

Next thing you will be saying is that Australians and Americans are the same because we are both white.

Someone I know, who's had a lot of cars, put them on his DD and raved about them, especially their wet weather grip. He also put them on his SL 500, and was happy there as well. I therefore tried them, and found them very good on the Yaris, and I don't give a **** about the wear - most of my tyres time out before they wear out. So I put them on the Aston and found them exceptional in the wet, dry, and snow. I would not risk the whole car to save a few bucks on tyres, I went on a recommendation. But, in the end, the real reason I put them on was because they're ... cool.

...and neither was the Japanese back in the late 50's early 60's,check the 'quality' of the first cars they started to produce.
