A fat one .., so for GG I'll put new tires on the GTS, even though the set on it will do the 9ks Long Haul trip..safety is always on my mind . I think I'll go with the Pirelli over the Dunlop and Michelin ,as the Pirelli is the hardest compound of the 3. The Goodyears supplied on new car purchase were rubbish
Thank you Carl. I have always bought the best Tyres for my cars. And in the GTR’s case, believe me it’s been a lot of Tyres. I would rather eat a burning rat than put Chinese Tyres on Horse. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Easy it had worn-out Michelins on it when I bought it and some other tires on the 16inch Simmons wheels, I had a set of used once around 10 laps of Sandown, Goodrich Comp TA Rs, the same size as per the book, and put them on, awesome tire in the wet, they had a short life and left them on the car when I sold it, just after my cancer issue.
Manufacturer recommended tyre is 90% about what deal was done in the boardroom, and 10% engineers' report. Regarding TWI, try comparing tyres with the same TWI, then you'll have a valid comparison.
Maybe on a Corolla but not on anything with performance aspirations. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Especially makes with performance aspirations. What's the PR value of having Ferrari wear your tyres? If Pirelli and Michelin have two tyres that are pretty even, what sways a manufacturer to specify one over the other?
But do they actually specify one manufacturer? The handbook for the 575 list both Pirelli and Michelin with slightly different tyre pressures for each.
Automatics don't count . I was referring to the tyres that the car has on it from the factory. Maybe Pirelli kicked in more money for one market, and Michelin did for another.
Yes, i know, they were delivered with either. One thing is for sure though, NO CHINESE TYRES Image Unavailable, Please Login
