No such thing my friend !! I have done extensive testing using dragy and so had my friend dragtimes. We have data unlike this random comparison mentioned in your thread. We know these cars very well and have run many comparisons .. facts speak for themselves. The fastest I could see was between 4.30 and 4.35 for a stock SF90.

I just posted the link. They are the average recorded numbers from eight magazine tests (Auto Motor und Sport, Auto Zeitung, Autcar, Car & Driver, Motortrend, Motorsport, Quattroruote and Sport Auto). They are not some random numbers.

SF90 stock not doing 4 seconds flat 100-200 km/h.

296 from dig will be around 4.4/4.5 seconds I’d think. 4.25 seems really quick to me but maybe it’s possible. I’ll be testing my car extensively next year when I get it.

From my testing the 765 can do 4.0 seconds 100-200….

Did 4.05 on my Sf90 VS, mabe user above has a lemon Sf90.
But 765lt feels still faster, specialy above 250kmh.

My Sf90 Af is fl of carbon and also carbon wheels, i guess one if the lightiest spec. That could help also

 

You mean SF90 AF how did you measure that time ? Stopwatch

 

Point me to any one of those tests these magazines did with a 4 sec time

 

Haven’t had a chance to draggy test it yet, but my SF90 feels faster than my 296 from a dead stop due to traction. However, they feel the same everywhere else. My guess is that the SF90s with AF packages are going to be slightly slower than non-AF 296s (as well as a 765s) at higher speeds due to extra drag from the rear wing, but non AF SF90s are essentially a dead heat against both.

 

SF90Stradale's strength is not exactly on a drag strip.
A 1000CV in SF90 is present only in Quali Mode and for limited time as battery charge level allows. Over ~ 210kph the front electric motors disengage and you definitely lose at least 100CV or more, but still carrying that increased by hybrid setup vehicle weight.
Maybe it's not so visible versus 296 (which is also hybrid), but that's definitely the case versus lightweight mclarens.

 

Quattroruote clocked it at 4.1'', others even lower.

After 210 kph, the battery juice goes to the back motor, so the overall power remains the same. The battery is able to contribute till the car's top speed.


PS: I hope we all agree that "feeling" and numbers don't always agree.

 

You still haven’t posted the link for the 4 sec tested number .. I would really like to see that test you are talking about. I certainly don’t believe it’s there and if someone posts est numbers it doesn’t mean anything without data. I can give you data for all the numbers available as they are verified with dragy or Racebox. I don’t believe in hearsay ..

Anyway I’m just stating the obvious I own both and yes the SF 90 feels faster all the time and from a standing start way quicker .. but the torque curve is very linear on the 296 and it just doesn’t feel as fast but the way it delivers power from 100k is phenomenal. You will only know if you dragy tested both.

Weird question, but if you have to compare the new V6 with the V8TT, do you believe that two cylinders less is a downgrade ?

 

I can tell you that the V6 sounds better.

Definitely not !! Esp when you have hypercars like the project one using 1.6 l V6 engine and Ferrari’s own Le Mans winner the 499p using the same engine from the 296 with some tweaks. But yeah I get what you saying we all feel that more cylinders means more value but times have changed. The engines have become so efficient with hybridization and the way it’s being packaged with the benefits of weight saving etc. I just think this is a new era for automotive engineering and we will see downsizing bringing more benefits.

I also feel the 296 has one of the best engines ever produced by ferrari esp for it being a V6 it sounds better than the V8 turbo engines.

 

Strong rumors said it will equip the Laferrari replacement either..

 

I prefer the TT V6 over the TT V8 due to the sounds it makes.

I’ll also say this. With cost excluded, I give the SF90 a score of 10/10 and the 296 a score of 9/10, only because I think the SF90 looks better and has more presence.

But when I include cost into the equation, I give the 296 a 10/10, and the SF90 a 8/10. As awesome as the SF90 is, it’s not with the extra $250k above what I paid for my 296. For the price, the 296 is simply spectacular.

Couldn’t disagree more,, charging over £325k with options for a V6 TT AF against a £450k V8 TT AF makes the SF90 AF a bargain, especially when you also consider they will make about 4 x more 296 to SF90 in production numbers. On top of that side by side the SF90 AF looks like a Hyper Car v the 296 GTB looks like a Lotus Evora. Now the numbers might be wider apart in USA, which is your point, and it’s horses for courses, but in UK it’s a total head scratcher how Ferrari get away charging over £300k for a full production V6. Just waiting for the first advertised 296 GTS to show up at £395k, madness.

 

How comes?
With V-box Sport and performance box touch, both from Leitspeed, far superieur than draggy. Use those tools from Leitpseed since longtime ago, very good on track data as well..

I think your Sf90 is probably under performing, or maybe on the heavy side?

 

I feel exactly the same, and you got them here in Switzerland alteady at or slightly under MSRP.
10 listet in autoscout already now (in our smal country) so you know where this boat is shipping to.
