AUSTRIAN GP UPDATES: Ferrari - NEW FLOOR [revised in the area of the Venturi tunnels], a new FRONT WING and front BRAKE DUCTS. Alpine - NEW FRONT WING. McLaren - NEW SIDEPODS, ENGINE COVER and FLOOR Williams - Sargeant will get the update that Albon ran last time out
Will DVR the race only. The sprint format is asinine. The regular practice and qualifying formats are fine the way they are. It has even bled into MotoGP. Can anyone tell me why Liberty felt the overwhelming need to screw with this? Are they claiming it gives the fans more track time for their overpriced ticket? More TV exposure? MotoGP gives a quick review of the Saturday sprint then concentrates the majority of their time (commercial-free like F1) on the main race. They are getting huge crowds for race weekends. I make an effort to watch or DVR the bikes on CNBC here in the States. I wonder what their ratings numbers are here in the U.S. The racing is normally tight and exciting, and the technology isn't as hamstrung as in F1. I get psyched to watch MotoGP like I used to for F1.
I’m the contrarian who likes the sprints: no pit stops, no tire management, just head to head racing.
