Stopped at a newer (but new to me) local butcher: The Meating Place. Touts majority of meats sourced locally. This is obviously not local . Bought two pieces: one for this weekend; vac seal and freeze the other. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Spending the weekend in SF to get away from the heat in Silicon Valley. Some sandos and kbbq from San Ho Won which is a 1 star. The galbi is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. They double cut A5 short ribs, souvide, and then sear over wood coals. The meat melted in your mouth. However, since A5 is used the dish was incredibly rich and only a few pieces could be eaten. The other meat dishes were a marinated prime rib cap and beef neck filet. Can't wait to see that cooked up. From our recent road trip. Sicilian pizza in Metropolis, Illinois. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login It was Sicilian in the sense it was square. Sicilian pizza should be fluffier and a crispier crust. This was regular pizza, just square. Tasted good though. T
Hamburger Barn in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Chipotle and bacon burger. The chipotle sauce was sweet but did have a little kick to it. Tasted better on the onion rings ( not pictured), which were fantastic! Image Unavailable, Please Login T
Back home and tried to recreate the Japanese curry we enjoyed in California. Didn't want to jump into the deep end of the pool, so I used S&b curry sauce mix. Hot variety. Also skipped the cutlery. Image Unavailable, Please Login Simmer taters, onions and carrots. About 4 to 5 min. Image Unavailable, Please Login Add two cups of water. Bring to boil and simmer. About 12 min. Didn't want my veggies to be soft. Not dark enough? Used half the package. Taste was good though, and house smells great! Image Unavailable, Please Login Over rice. Kicked it up with some crushed chiltepin peppers. Next time I'll try the "extra hot" curry paste. T
My first A5. Over the top rich. I only finished half. Amazing flavor with just finishing salt. Added seared zucchini with soffrito and some potato with my chives. 2009 CDP artery scrubber chaser. HoPR is amazing. How long did it take you to get reservations? I always try to eat there when I visit SF. Took my buddy visiting from Milan a few years back. Very memorable experience for both of us.
we were able to snag a reservation Friday for Sunday dinner. They open up reservations everyday at noon due to cancellations and usually you can get a last minute reservation if you monitor and are flexible with time.
Its from the Mayura Station. I have attached a link to them. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=27c199278601e948JmltdHM9MTY4ODI1NjAwMCZpZ3VpZD0zNmJjMmJjOS1mZTNjLTYxNWMtMDA0Ni0zOTk3ZmYyYzYwZDMmaW5zaWQ9NTU1Ng&ptn=3&hsh=3&fclid=36bc2bc9-fe3c-615c-0046-3997ff2c60d3&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmluZy5jb20vYWxpbmsvbGluaz91cmw9aHR0cCUzYSUyZiUyZm1heXVyYXN0YXRpb24uY29tJnNvdXJjZT1zZXJwLWxvY2FsJmg9Z0tHYTB0SmNXTEdiREtocnc1cHQweUU0cW81Qzl1ZW85RndoMWM3N2RwbyUzZCZwPWx3X3dmdHB0JmlnPTlBMDYyMTQ0MUQ0QjQwRjI5OERDM0VCNTNFMTFDNzM5JnlwaWQ9WU4zNzI0eDMwNjY1NDIyMzE4Njk0MzQzNzI&ntb=1

I hate you! Of all things that is hard to find here in TX its Prime Rib. I have to drive all the way to Houston if I want something really good. And to think I am surrounded by high end steak houses that are not chains. Now the local Outback has it but who wants that?
Jealous! We went to House of Prime Rib dog years ago! So good. We liked Lawry's in Beverly Hills a bit better, but House of Prime Rib is excellent too. Image Unavailable, Please Login Still on a Japanese curry kick, so we went to a Japanese market in Plano. I may have gone overboard. Made a batch of mild for the wife. She must have enjoyed it, as she asked for leftovers the next day. She rarely tolerates leftovers. T
Good point. I'm not sure where I'd get a good prime rib if I had to eat out up here in Dallas. Easier to cook one up on the bbq...T
Lol. [emoji2] I'll have to check them out. My wife loves cheese enchiladas, but my culinary skills don't extend that far! T
Trader Joe’s used to carry a great cheese enchilada. CV hit and I stopped seeing them. Figured supply chain. Finally ask a manager a few months back and learned they no longer carry. Like you, might have to try now that this suggestion appeared
