Just picked up six bottles of Chateau Nenin Pomerol 2020 for $74.99 a bottle @ Costco. This is usually very scarce and hard to obtain, kinda bizarre that Costco had it. I am going back tomorrow at opening to buy 6 more if still available.
You think they get those due to some kind of lot issues (heat etc?) or how? Usually has trash like The Prisoner which is marketed as high end but not. Like Caymus (excluding 40th Ann).
I buy most of my wine from my local guy who is a small independent retailer. He doesn't know how Costco does it. Sometimes their prices are lower than his wholesale, and in NC hat is not supposed to happen. Kirkland's own signature brand often presents terrif value (not always). They have a Grand Cru Chablis that I think is $22-24 that's terrific. Their Barolo and CdR are very good and dirt cheap. Their Marlborough SB is a sensational value if you like the style (most believe Kim Crawford is the supplier). I'm careful with what I buy there, but summer quaffers in rose like Whispering Angel and Miraval are 5 to 8 bucks cheaper that other retailers.
I really enjoyed this Anyone have comments in it ..I do not claim to be an expert so was curious how it compares Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Today we were too tired (and lazy) after the week-end to have a proper diner, so we just took a take away pizza... It did not preclude a decent side drink though Image Unavailable, Please Login
Picked this up at Costco on a whim. I think it was somewhere between in the $20-$30 sweet spot for EDR (easy drinking red). It was excellent. Smooth and balanced. Could probably improve with age but also fine now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had a TASMANIAN pinot noir on the boat from Stargazer. Pretty good. I've had good beers from there but first red wine.
Purchased from Somm aboard. We drank three bottles of Comte Lafon Sancerre, delicious. Had an old Guigal Cote Roti that was lovely, I think maybe 2009? Drank a bunch of good bubbles, too. Cheers
Funny side note . my close friends know I like a certain level of wine ( trust me nothing crazy) and call me a wine snob. The other day they surprised me in a nice quiet reserved restaurant here in NJ ( BYOB ) and while i was walking in they all screamed " hey dom we brought you your favorite.." they were holding up 2 gallons of Carlo rossi .. nevertheless it was funny and embarrassing at the same time. I think the staff got a kick out of it too Just for the record I brought a bottle of kinsella cab (2015)
Excellent. Silky, fruit forward and light repressed tannins. Decanted 25 min. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know the winemaker. He makes terrific wines, both his own and for his clients. Can't usually go wrong with Julien Fayard.
I’ve been enjoying this wine for forty years; my family became friends with the former owners, the Currado family, and hosted them here in the states. Image Unavailable, Please Login
