    Lately there has been an increase in users trying to scam buyers in the classifieds. This is not isolated to FerrariChat, other forums and classified sites are experiencing this in increased numbers.

    The basics are the scammer private messages users that indicate in the classified thread they are interested. They then hijack the sale by pretending to be the Seller or another Seller at a better price.

    We'll keep this thread updated as we discover more information. Please report any unusual activity.

    Usernames of suspected accounts and their email:

    Robertkrafts [email protected]

    Here are some things you can look for...
    1. Suspect any users contacting you offline that aren't the original seller.
    2. Suspect any new users with a low post count.
    3. Suspect any nonsubscriber, Classified Sellers have to be subscribed and very few scammers will subscribe.
    4. If they provide an email, do a Google search, many of these emails are known and listed as scammers.

    We have a current listing up for a set of Aston Martin Borrani Wheels for sale. We had a person call us and tell us he was scammed by some one who hijacked our post? I do not know all the details but it was really weird and he is out money he sent thinking it was to us. This internet thing will bring out the best and worst in people. So yes your post is 100% accurate! Tom

    For the scammers. I am on other marketing sites. A lot of them have started posting with the item, written or typed on a piece of paper the day posted and your name. Makes it hard to repost later like it belongs to you.

    I just got scammed for a 100 dollars by someone with an email address of [email protected] that must have seen my comment on a users post of a car cover bag

    don't communicate with anyone for transactions outside our system (email) and when you communicate with them through our system, make sure to check their history.
