    I've done this before. Just don't bend the wire sufficiently to break it lose from the vent.

    Slide the wire under one edge. Get a popsicle stick, put a little notch in one end put it through the vent and push to wire down while holding the vent to the min height over the hole required to get it to engage.

    That's how I did it anyhow. Go easy.

    Does the wire fit below the bottom rim or just into the cylindrical hole

    It just the same in Alfa, there are two small holes 180 degrees apart,
    you have to engage both, so the vent, it will not fly out when the squirrel is running at top speed :)
