    I just purchased a 1997 355 and was trying to do some research to see if it originally come from the factory with a Sony head unit. The previous owner is stating that it was delivered with no radio. I would just like to install a radio delete plate but I want the car to be as delivered. As always I appreciate the help.

    My 98 355 came with a XR-F20.

    I suspect the only way to know how it was delivered was with the build sheet and sticker price. If original owner said "No radio" then it would have come with no radio unless it did and the dealer then removed it.

    My plan is to locate a Sony XR-F20 or XR-F21RDS even though it appears the car was delivered without a radio. I already was able to locate the faceplate. I'm currently searching for an original radio delete plate as well.
