You'd be very brave and very wealthy to take this on: https://auctions.shannons.com.au/auction/lot/lot-1972-aston-martin-dbs-v8-project/?lot=1007&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=14&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=48&pn=4&g=1
Well, you sure wouldn't be afterwards... I love the Holley 600. Does anywhom find it extraordinary that cars like this Aston Martin, that cost more than an inner suburban 4 bedroom home when new, can end up in a condition like that? If somewhom was a half decent retired metalworker with an English wheel, could TIG blindfolded, had a spare engine and hated your wife, I guess it's workable.
My Boxer popped a coolant hose on the way to Mt White, I was stranded on a blind corner. Slightly stressful morning
Good,for the ABC,car story: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-07-16/living-in-the-70s-vintage-car-exhibition-gippsland/102603894
"These days the swagger, beauty and engineering of 20th century classic cars is shaded by criticism of their carbon footprint." Typical ABC, had to have a little dig
Never watch the ABC apart from BBC drama or OZ drama shows-I leave the rest of the content to tired old aunties to enjoy.
Indeed, but you have to admire the relentless propaganda of the climate industrial complex. It just never, ever stops. The beautiful lie by omission - that EV's don't have a carbon footprint. Imagine if all the effort and money was used for something positive? e.g. Sanitation and fresh water for half the population of Africa, elimination of Dengue fever in Asia, etc, etc.
I think that’s called ‘balanced reporting’. Note they didn’t ‘comment’ on the criticism, just reported that there IS criticism.
Except that the comment was totally irrelevant and did nothing to enhance the story. How a museum somehow becomes drawn into a comment about carbon is absurd.
Agree,if the ABC wanted to gain some (extra) kudos they'd have had pics of the engine bays of the Espada and Nagari!.......not that most reading the piece would have know WTF they were being shown.
I disagree - the carbon discussion is THE discussion of these times, no matter what side of the argument you are on, to ignore either side is just being one-eyed.
