Wich post? Can't go back through out the whole thread. And its a yes or no question. You could have answered instead of typing all of that.
I could indeed However the same arguments are repeated constantly in this thread; personally I refuse to post here on auto repeat.
I wouldn't change much to the post #14 I posted on this thread in 2021. "Personally, it's only what happens on the track that matters to me. I have no interest in anything else; in fact, it bores me solid to hear people constantly refering to what drivers do off the track. In life I am not interested in PR, sounbites, interviews, gossips, etc ... I abhor that. To me Lewis Hamilton is an outstanding driver, the best of his generation, and by a long shot. His origins, race, hairstyle, fashion sense, politics, social opinions, lifestyle, private life are of no interest to me. I cannot see anyone capable of matching his racing records among the present F1 drivers (98 Poles, 96 GP wins). Statistically Vettel, or Alonso are the nearest to his achievements, but they will never catch up."
and yet ... when someone mentioned what alleged "true F1 insiders" say about the cockiness displayed by a driver outside the cockpit, you jumped to that poster's defense when i asked for sources: Let's be honest now you post plenty about things outside of racing ... just like the rest of us
Assuming Max continues for the next 4 or 5 years on his current path (and Red Bull does as well which is VITAL), I promise you all the "it was the car" stuff written about Lewis will be written about Max. The current Lewis haters will deny this but we all know it will happen. Sadly, it is a societal thing to crap on the very successful. Also known as jealousy
I have to agree with everything William posted two years ago. The only thing I would add is that Max is the most talented driver of the current generation. He is, right now, one of the best F1 drivers of all time. As is Hamilton. I can't attest to where they should be ranked in history but they are both GREAT drivers. A great driver gets the most out of his car every race and minimizes mistakes. Over-rated, under-rated what does it even matter. Just my opinion and I don't pretend to be an expert.
There's nothing to solve as there's no way to "prove" anything. So, it's simply opinion (and sometimes simpleton opinion) "Put xxx in the M-B in 2018 and he would have won the WDC..." "Put xxx in M-B in 2019 and HE would have won the WDC..." Etc. Yeah...except that's impossible. And in the next couple of years, it will be: "Put xxx in the RB in 2022 and he would have won the WDC" "Put xxx in the RB in 2023 and he would have won the WDC" Etc...Yeah...that's impossible also. Sadly for all the tools that make the above arguments, there's no way to do "put" someone "in the car" 5 years ago or a year ago... but it sure doesn't stop guys with an amazing lack of imagination (or reality) from saying it all the time (this thread is loaded with guys looking for Sherman and Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine, so they can shout: "See, I told you!!!")
Hamilton made the difference in 2017 and 18. They couldn't put a Stroll in that car and won the title. A few drivers would've won the title in that time in that car, for sure, namely (active drivers only): Vettel, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Alonso. They would've won the title. 14-15-16-20? Yes put Stroll in that car and he'd have been champion. So long his teammate didn't exist. 2021, Max sure as hell made the difference for Red Bull. No other driver would've done what he did. None. 2022, Max made the difference in the early season. Alonso, Hamilton, Russell, Norris, Ricciardo, Leclerc would've won in that car too. 2023, see above. Perez is showing that a good #2 doesn't easily win the title in the 2022 and 23 car.
There is a talented gentleman named Perez in an essentially identical car. Max blows his doors off every weekend and seems to have broken that gentleman's psyche. On Lulu's team, the rookie has broken Lulu's psyche.
Perez isnt a talented, dude has the best, and fastest car on the grid and cant even make q3 the majority of the time. hes not even a poor #2, hes terrible.
Maybe that's why Fangio is the the goal in my mind. Drove when mistakes ment death. Won about 50% of all races driven. Won WDC with multiple teams.
I bet he'd be much closer to Sir LuLu. Max is at his prime and I'm fully confident he would destroy LuLu on the same team. After all, George did last year.
I bet this I bet that. If this happens that will happen. So on and so on. Yet Sir Lewis Hamilton has more wins than all 3 of those drivers put together.
^^^ Actually, Hamilton is a "Sir". He was knighted by the Prince of Wales in December 2021. Just another reason for you to grind your teeth at night while having another self-inflicted Hamilton meltdown. Priceless.
Man you guys have a great imagination , knighted for what Swj advocacy? Bfd. I guess they could knight a dog. Same difference.
