Hi there, I have found a foto of an 296GTB which I like alot, also its spec. Would you think this is Rosso Corsa or Rosso Scuderia ? I know it depends alot with the lighting, but maybe someones knows this car/owner... Thank you !! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think it is RC. ....wait... I see some flares at the front arch. Rosso corsa met. ?? (Honestly I was tempted to write "green" )
Very nice indeed. Often I struggle to decide, if RC would be a nice color. On certain images it looks dull, but I think thats a little bit caused by the technique of taking a photo. Especially in sunlight, but eacht time I see one in RC (or think it is RC) I like it alot!! Unfortunately my Ferrari Dealer has no 296 GTS in RC without the "hammer-head" design .... Thats the reason why I ask. And I find the 296 somehow difficult concerning the colors. There are F8/488 like in Giallo Modena, which I like alot, but not on the 296. Don't know why. Same with Nero.
Rosso Corsa is far from dull. It really suits the 296 IMHO. I chose it for resale but have grown to really appreciate it again on this car. The last time I ordered Rosso Corsa was on a 458 Italia in 2011. My GTB is going imminently as my GTS is now in production. I'm going to miss it and am starting to think I should have spec'ed my GTS in RC. Here is my car and the photo's show the color fairly well. Thank you very very much. Yes, I totally agree, your photos look very good and it doesn't look like a dull color. Which color will your GTS have ?
I now love RC after having it on my 296 GTB. I actually changed my 296 GTS spec from Rosso Mugello to RC because I like it so much.
To me, Corsa looks dark in shadows but great in sunlight, while Scud looks bright even in shadows but a little “washed out” in direct sunlight. Not that I care because I always preferred metallics. IMO neither. Reason is they are both solid colours. In other words since there is no metalic flakes in it, at certain angles the colour will look dull and show any marks even more as the marks change the angle. I always had a hard time accepting that a car with this value to have a dull appearance. You have the option of Rosso Corsa Metalizato ( Very fine metalic through out ) The colour is still RC however it is shinny at any angle you look at it. Slightly more expensive but IMO ( Biased ) looks great ( with no regrets ) even though its hard to see the difference unless a regular RC is next to it.
Interesting. Sounds a lot like mclaren orange vs papyra spark. One is metallic and the the other is flat, otherwise the same paint. I wonder if there is a metallic version for Scuderia. I like all the reds that are Rossa corsa or brighter. The only exception is I do like F1-75 matte red. I think anything darker than Rossa corsa reminds me of a minivan color.
No there is not a metallic version of Scuderia. Ferrari introduced the Metallic version of Rossa Corsa on the 488 GTB. With the 296 GTB their new introduction was Imola Red however its just a metallic of a new red. Like I said IMO I would never by a solid colour as it looks flat at certain angles and emphasises fine scratches.and if RC is ones choice the RCM looks much better Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love all the paint choices (Flat, Matte, Metallic) with Papyra Spark (Metallic) being my favorite out of all manuf. However the cars I have in flat paint now I never had an issue and all look phenomenal in the light. This is most likely because I had them full wrap XPEL PPF before I drove them off the lot. I would take a metallic Scud if they made one, short of that I am a Rosso Scuderia all the way. Other options I like are Rosso Dino or the Triple Paint Yellow (Giallo Modena). I would love to see the Rosso Corsa Metalizato in person though as it could change my mind.
Just want to clarify, when I say flat I mean the phenomenon when you look at the paint at certain angles instead of being really glossy it looks flat, i.e its not shiny. This happens to solid colours. This is not the case with metallic colours.
