Upon inspection of the tool kit 328 Euro version, I notice that the wheel nut key is missing. Then just get a normal socket wrench ........ size 22 is too big and 21 is too small. In the history of the car i see that the car was owned by an Englisch men Could it be englisch bolts? Any one knows the normal size or where to get the right tool?
    Thanks in advance

Fairly sure that 22mm is the stock lugbolt hex head size, and that's almost exactly the same as 7/8" (so there won't be a very common English size between 22mm and 21mm). A possibility is that they may have been rechormed (so ground down a little and then replated back to size but maybe the grinding was a little excessive). If 22mm seems too loose, using a 6-point 22mm socket (rather than a 12-point 22mm socket) should help.

Absolutely agree; just checked on the many spare bolts I do have (pitted, not-so-pitted, etc...) for my two cars: 22mm fits exactly, without any slack.

BTW, to the O.P: no wheel nut socket or extension in the tool roll for 328; it goes in the jack roll.

    @ Steve, thanks.
Think that on closer inspection that may be the cause, they are indeed chromed
    @ Nerofer , thanks,
The jack is there but no special jack rol , damned :)

Ask me what happens if you didn't like the wheels a previous owner put on your 348 that used different bolts/size so you go back to stock wheels - using stock bolts.

    Just guess.

I've got the exact same situation with the wheel bolts on my '89 328 GTS:

A 21mm socket fits the front wheel bolts, but is too tight for the rear wheel bolts, and a 22mm socket is too loose on both the front and rear wheel bolts.

My wheel bolts have seen better days (which may well explain the socket discrepancy), so I'm planning on buying a set of Hills Engineering replacements, along with their wheel bolt saver-socket.

Just a note on Hills wheel bolts, I wouldn’t buy theirs, I know two people who have brought sets and in less than two years started to pit all over the place, they then contacted Hills and they weren’t interested, no refund or replacement.

stick with hills for great tools and tension bearing as wheel bolts don’t last from them, maybe OK in super dry climates but not the UK.

Not seeing any complaints about the Hill's Engineering wheel bolts, either here on Ferrarichat, or with a general Google search

Hi phill, google search won’t help you, face to face talking to people :) at events and drive outs. Ring Superformance up and ask where they get theirs from they may use a different supplier. Your choice anyway,

Normally if people have issues they make a complaint somewhere on the internet sooner or later (on car forums and other car sites), and Google will pickup on the keywords (such as "Ferrarichat", "Ferrari", "Hill Engineering", "wheel bolts", "pitting", "poor quality", "quality issues"), so if there is a regular problem, it will become a known issue.

If I have a problem with my 328, the first thing I do is Google: "Ferrarichat.......328...... (what my issue is)", and in almost all cases, a number of threads and posts will appear that relate to the same or similar issues (and quite often, issues that are not related to the issue)

I don't need to ring Superformance because I already know their supplier is Hill Engineering.

Hill Engineering have an excellent quality reputation, so I would be surprised if Ferrari owners have been having issues with the quality of their wheel bolts, but have never reported it on any Ferrari/car forum sites, including Ferrarichat. Owners on Ferrarichat have bought Hill Engineering wheel bolts in the past ( https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/wheel-bolts.620682/ ), so if there had been issues, I would expect to find some complaints on here about them.

Hill Engineering strongly suggests using their "Chrome Saver Aluminium Wheel Socket" to avoid damaging the chrome on wheel bolts, and post this advice in regards any possible pitting (From: https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/wbbl-01 ):

"Please note - To avoid pitting corrosion of chrome plated surfaces it is highly advisable that wheel bolts that are exposed to road salt are washed off as soon as possible. Caution is also advised in using wheel cleaners as some can attack the chrome surface. Check with the manufacturer of the product to make sure it is safe to use on chrome plating."

Do you know for a fact that the owners you've spoken to who have slated Hill Engineering wheel bolts for pitting, followed the advice given by them about the care of the wheel bolts to avoid chrome cracking/pitting issues?
