You know that advice that IT security experts give their users about changing your password regularly? It's not just theoretical.

We are seeing an uptick of users who don't change their passwords and who likely use the same passwords across multiple accounts having their accounts hijacked.

If the hijacked user has a subscribed account, the next thing that happens is that the hijacker locks out the real user and then begins posting crazy deals in fake ads for sale. These are scams.

If you send money, it will be gone. Period. End of story.

    To prevent this...

    1) All users - Change your password regularly. It will hurt your reputation in the community if you allow your account to be hijacked even once. And you will be contributing to the loss of funds of another user who trusted your reputation.

    2) All buyers - don't jump on ads for deals that are too good to be true. We have had multiple instances of users so anxious not to lose a hot deal that they have sent money via means without recourse. Money gone. Spend the time to vet the seller, even if they've been a long time user with a good reputation. It may not be who you think.

    Be careful out there.

As the saying goes, if it is too good to be true ..........

A few days ago I reported a new member who offered to sell Purosangue slots in the allocation thread. Not only that but he claimed he had both left and righthand drive slots.

    We're due for another PSA:

Security isn't just for yourself. A weak password or continued use of an exposed password also affects users who trust your reputation. Several more users were scammed today due to an account of a 20+ year "trusted" user being taken over by a hijacker.
