Phil always drives bare footed, funny for a bike guy.

Not to mention extending clutch life - last review 2020 showed 60% wear on clutch that is a long way from new.

I can't believe anyone on here driving an older classic car out on the open road, especially when driving spiritedly, doesn't heel & toe so as to match revs under brakes on the downshifts  especially when you get into the lower gears.

So even if you double clutch, as I do, you don't match revs as well by H&T when revs are high.

Without touching the brakes? Oristhis just a confusion of terms: to me, ‘double clutch’ and ‘heel &toe’ are the same thing, although there is the occassional time when no brake is needed, that’s not the norm, for me anyway.

Well, you can double de-clutch without touching the brakes, but that path leads to madness. Heel-and-toe braking allows you to do both. Gears are for going faster, brakes are for slowing down. The only reason you heel-and-toe is so that you're in the correct gear for the speed you're at when you've finished braking. Simple, huh?

But of course you can be in the correct gear at any point in time without heel and toeing.

Not in car without synchros you can’t (I learned to drive in my 500). It’s also helpful when your clutch cable breaks...

Well, it helps if you double going up and down in a Bambino.

And that’s why I’m not interested in driving an OHOS.

Well, actually, there are dozens of reasons. But that’ll do.

The price equates to around 20 dinners at a SC- Surf Club (steak, unlimited accress to the salad bar, and dessert table, a pot of XXXX beer and to finish a "Cap coffee and biscotti) Can't see any SC members on here buying them ......
