right side won't latch and left side won't unlatch. it is really a hassle because of my side lift I have to enter the car from right side each time to pull handle. when I pull handle there is nothing unlatching.

    thanks.

There is an emergency left side release WAY under the left side dash- It's a cable with a finger loop- there is <should be> one for right side as well. It is most likely a lubrication issue with the cables and perhaps the latches- or possibly a broken cable-

BTW Rob this is not shown in the manual- I had the same issue and embarrassingly took to dealer only for my tech to find the emergency releases for both sides.

Some WD40 later all was well

Thanks a bunch, I'm wondering if the panel or carpet keeping the right side from latching is putting a weird angle on the left one.

That could certainly be the case- I would think more along lines of stressed cables and/or wonky latches- For US cars the main release on left actuates both the left release and a cross connect to the right- Not the most optimal design- That's what put me on a search for both emergency releases

Take out carpet and see how it opens and closes.

It was working fine until dealer did a service, they were in there to fix the window washer.

Ahh- Then your carpet theory probably has merit- They would have had to mess with that to get to washer I believe- Did you contact dealer?

The pull cable on left was easy to find, first grabbed a connector, but second was the little T handle for the release. Came right open.

Looking under bonnet nothing obviously interfering in the latch, I think it is more the fitting of the panel around the latch area. I push and tugged a little, but everything is firm. Something probably only a half inch off.

    Thanks!
