A bit wild and entertaining opinion article on this Ricci move back to racing. https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/111461/daniel-ricciardo-f1-sergio-perez-alphatauri-red-bull-return-2023/
I cannot see Toto interested employing Nyck de Vries in F1 at Mercedes. Maybe a return to Formula E ?
Miss the point much? Thanks for an obvious answer to a question or comment that literally me or nor anyone asked for. Good Lord
Story of the season so far beyond the RedBull being so good. Will be interesting to follow this in Budapest soon. So many eyes following and predictions to come. A nice warm welcome to his new team. Nice post!
Nick de Vries at Alpha Tauri is a strong reminder of the story Bourdais/ Toro Rosso don’t you think ?
Luizzi, Speed, Bourdais, Buemi, Alguesuari, Vergne, Kvyat, Hartley, Albon, now de Vries. Only Vettel, Ricciardo, and Verstappen did well from their time at TR. Sainz and Gasly left before they were pushed. I would be worried if I was Tsunoda: his contract finishes at the endof the season. Time to make room for new victims !!!
True. He was there racing and it didnt work. I would think something was done to at least let him know he is still a good human being by RedBull.
You know, in all the years I watched many drivers being replaced without any fuss. The team didn't go publicly to berate them or talk about their shortcomings. Their replacement was done without publicity, and that was it. Now, everything has to be so dramatic to please the damned media !!! I am glad that I lived in a era where people were more civilised.
Yes, like thanking him for his effort and wishing him good luck in future, not treating him like an unwanted puppy.
Ricciardo has a deadline with Alpha Tauri. He needs to beat Tsunoda in points by the end of the 2023 year.....or else.
You're so right. When he ran away from RB to Renault I thought his career would/should be over given his performance there. I don't think anyone thought he got more out of the car than the car could do... i.e., no Alonso style magic. When he then jumped ship to McLaren, I think I made the comment that if Lando whoops his ass there... it's curtains. Well... I was wrong because here we are. But I think now it's safe to say that his career dissipation light is blinking fairly bright. If he Yuki does to him what Lando did, then he'll be managing a local go-kart track by the end of the season and no one will care. But at the same time, he has to be applauded for raking in the money. Few drivers can be that badly beaten and underperform and still just get bank. I don't begrudge that at all. Good for him.
Talk about going from hero to zero in a short time . Better a has been than a never was , can’t feel sorry for him , he is getting paid a huge sum to do nothing and good for him . He flunks out here , will be unemployable in F1 , we shall see , Horner and Marko are no dummies , they must have seen something encouraging
Managing a kart track lol. Well he is more than marketable within F1 and it’s media circus etc. I wish him the best. Max and others who matter are also ones who respect him as a professional. Ricci has far more success than 95% of drivers who enter the sport. If Yuki is better good for him. Everyone gets beaten!
I started out as a fan of his... until his mouth started running non-stop. The constant need to be "on" 24/7 just got old quickly as did his constant self\-aggrandizing.
How Daniel Ricciardo went from ‘disastrous’ sim run to an F1 return in 11 laps https://www.planetf1.com/news/daniel-ricciardo-went-from-disaster-to-f1-return-in-11-laps/
Horner blames ONE MAN for Ricciardo downfall ahead of comeback (gptoday.com) "Christian Horner has revealed that Daniel Ricciardo "picked up every bad habit imaginable" while working with an F1 race engineer during his time away from Red Bull." Did Ricciardo worked with the same race engineer during his 4 years away from Red Bull ?
No. Ricciardo had Simon Rennie as his engineer when he was at Red Bull. At Renault it was Karel Loos and at mclaren Tom Stallard
