Nick, did you not just get delivery? I feel so bad for you.
Damn, another one....what the heck is going on? Besides the fact they are able to get in the car, and disable all security, its the fact of there are actually buyers for stolen new GTS? This world is going to $hits.

Nick, sorry to hear ! Shocking ! I recently had mine in Montreal for the F1 Grand Prix and bought The Club, parked in front of hotel etc hoping to avoid this. Two weeks before that my salesman at F of O told me of a GTS being stolen from a clients driveway in under 20 seconds! After that I decided I better try the Club, hoping that would help. This is horrible ! I wish you luck to get it back.

oh no...sorry to hear about your loss.
high rate of thefts happening in the UK as well.
Ferrari owners car insurance premiums have jumped up significantly.
you may have seen the YouTube CCTV vid of an 812 being taken outside a London residence...it took seconds to commit the theft.

He did, and somehow they have found it and disposed of it. I have been following this awful, heart-wrenching ordeal in our Ferrari Owners Whatsapp chat.

I would also consider pulling the fuel pump fuse or installing a hidden kill switch somewhere.

Not that it's any use to the OP, but I've heard good things about IGLA immobilizers, worth researching if they are available for Ferraris.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation Nick. :(
    Hope you get her back.

    Latest update:
"I am sending this email to update you on the case thus far. I will say at the outset that all efforts were exhausted to locate your vehicle, but as of right now we have been unable to do so.

Officers attended all of the GPS ping locations, including the final stopping points for the Air tags and the GPS device. A thorough canvas was conducted for the vehicle with no success, officers went door to door, and through consent searches checked every garage in the area of the GPS ping. Officers then canvassed the area for video of the vehicle, either being parked or loaded into a transport container, again with no success. A physical search was then conducted to attempt to locate the Air tags and the GPS, including all pathways, bushes, and garbage receptacles in the area.

I then reached out to GPS company, who advised that the device was now showing offline. In their opinion it was either turned off or destroyed.

Officers attended your condo to retrieve the video, but property management requires us to provide them with a Production Order. This is pending, but will take some time to complete. (You can speak with your property management company as to why they require us to do this, as it is unknown to me why they require this additional judicial authorization.)

At this time, until I have reviewed the video I have no further leads to follow up with. If the vehicle is recovered you will be notified.

I will keep the case open in case we come across anything else."

Airtags had speakers removed so they couldn't be located, perhaps they had some sort of scanner. Police were first in area around 4am, so between 1130pm and 4am they were able to locate/remove all devices and relocate car

    It's probably gone. :(

Hopefully insurance makes you whole and you can replace it with an equally beautiful one.

If you do there is an IGLA version for it.

I'm thinking theives brought car to initial location, scanned and disposed of trackers at that site before moving on. Probably sitting in public parking somewhere until container is ready. Please share!

Something curious here with IGLA. It is a hardware device that would be connected to the OBDII/CAN bus. It would perhaps continuously send a disable ignition command (or set a disable flag once) to the ECU until it sees the keypress commands come in over the bus. Pretty simple so just need to know two basic CAN-bus commands. So you have to patch into the CAN-bus harness and also suck power.

There's not so many places that are convenient to get into the CAN-bus harness and there likely is a recommendation in the instructions (or a help line) so I bet the thieves would know where to look and remove that device as well.

Also, if the thieves are stealing the car by connecting into the CAN-bus to disable the regular start authentication then they are definitely smart enough to look for the disable ignition commands and stomp on that (or reset the flag) so it won't work without even looking for it.

Sorry to hear but if I had a vehicle stolen you can keep it. Just give me a check for the value. Car will never be the same again to me. Best of luck otherwise!

How is it this easy to steal these cars?? Considering what they cost, i assumed the factory would ensure that its a lot more difficult.

A lot of modern Ferraris (especially the V12s) are highly personalised based on the owner's taste so there is some heartache in parting with such a car which cannot be recreated since the order books are closed. Having said that I too would take the cheque and move on.

It's like a wife cheating on you. Sure you have her back but she'll never be the same in your eyes. I see your point but I'm not "that particular" with the cars. I look at what's available on the market and find one to my liking and make the purchase.

We had a Ferrari Club girl in Dallas go against an organized crime ring that involved her building, underground parking, and security. If all of those are working together, then it is near impossible for police to break it.

According to articles I read those Air Tags and similar devices can easily be detected just using newer Apple and Android phones without using a separate Bluetooth scanner. Air Tags also emit a beeping sound if not within the owners device for less than a day unless you turn off the beeper. These devices are near useless to protect against vehicle theft.

What I still don’t understand is what are the thieves doing with these stolen cars. In London we are talking about quite a few.

Apart from Eastern European countries, I don’t see where they could go.

Dismantling them for spare parts doesn’t seem more likely.

    Am I missing something ?
