Did Oscar Piastri have a damaged car and couldn't really keep up with his teammate Lando Norris? Andrea Stella shed some light, saying yes there was damage, but he also has praise for Piastri, who dealt with it very well: "I'm pretty sure we told him. But Oscar is a guy who doesn't make excuses anyway. It doesn't surprise me that he doesn't even mention [the damage]. But the damage is there." Stella: "We think he caught the damage when driving over the curbs, but not necessarily and only in the scene, when he drove off the track in a duel with Perez."
I wouldn't consider a porcelaine vase a suitable trophy for winning a GP. What about a proper silver cup like before ?
Hamilton faced 'reality' in Hungarian GP: 'We're not fast enough' I think it’s obvious that we’re not the quickest," he said. "We don’t have the quickest car and I’m really proud of myself and the job that we did yesterday to get pole position, to outperform the world champion and the other two cars that were quicker than us. "Today, it’s reality. The reality is we’re not fast enough. They already told me in strategy this morning I would be at least five tenths [per lap] slower than the Red Bull. "So the fight’s not with Max but [we were] hoping that we could fight the McLarens, but the second McLaren was too quick for us also." https://f1i.com/news/481824-hamilton-faced-reality-in-hungarian-gp-were-not-fast-enough.html
Yep, I keep thinking "he must make a small mistake that leads to a crash at some point" ... but it never happens.
Well, I personally destest a porcelain trophy that is fragile and umpractical to handle, pack and transport. We just had the proof how useless it can be; it failed at the first hurdle- on the podium !!!
Which is why sadly I think Ferrari will never win an F1 championship again. Just imagine if you are a top tier F1 engineer, would you like to work / live (as an expat) in Italy or in the UK / Germany?
ESPN is televising an "encore" presentation of todays Formula 1 race @7:00pm (eastern) here in the States.
Depends on the environment and salary. Like William stated few weeks ago, problem right now with Ferrari is within the company. Not about Italy.
Yeah I agree, to a degree. I think the free testing was needed, as Ferrari as a team was woefully behind in all matters. As much as it helped to develop the cars, it was also building discipline, operations...everything.
Imagine thinking the guy that has less wins, less podiums, less poles, less fastest laps, and a higher retirement rate in 60 more races is better. Let's play a game. The top 4 drivers on the grid by podium % are Hamilton, Max, Bottas, Alonso. Wanna guess who's 5th? Maybe Stroll? Your beloved Sainz? Norris and his 8%? Come on, show me how smart you are.
since cars aren't the same how can you possibly make an even remotely fair assessment on this using only statistics?
I’ve made it half way, hoping, wishing, and disappointed. 2008 was that long ago, right? I wonder if F1 TV will prorate my season if I cancel?
I don't think he is really under any pressure and he got all the stupid mistakes out of the way in his first couple of years. The RB has 0.5s / lap advantage and VER probably another 0.2s in his pocket.
