I had my 330 gtc judged at Cavallino in West Palm Beach last year.
I met one of the wonderful judges Maurice .
He told me he was writing/publishing a book on the 330 gtc, I mentioned to him that I’d love one once completed.

a few weeks ago he sent me the link to order:
    http://www.makgroupbooks.com/

I think it’s the best 330gtc book ever written.
This is a must have for any 330 owner.

I have no affiliation but just wanted to post up the opportunity.

Thanks for the link Chas, certainly looks like a comprehensive book on a model that hasn't got enough coverage as it possibly should have in my opinion.

I think the website has a mistake however (no big deal) but it looks like they have the photos pictured for the standard and anniversary editions the other way around from what I can see.

Any word on an actual release date?

No rush in ordering - with 2,000 copies of the standard edition it will take a while for them to sell out.

2000 copies, at that price? Good luck selling them!

That’s a dumb statement…..what do you want, all the sellers of books to get together and post them under one thread….?

$575.00 X 2000 copies = a really nice 330GTC and enough left over to fix any nagging issues.

I see the plan now. :D

I got the limited edition version, the book itself is really beautiful….. probably weighs 15 lbs

I haven’t had a chance to dive into it but I’ll repost when I do.

As for dumb statements and your associated ignorance, you may not have noticed "the official book collectors thread".

Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

From the preview page on the website it looks like a pretty comprehensive book.

Reminds me of the 250 GTE books of a few years ago.

I would like a copy but not at $575 plus whatever it costs to ship it to Europe. I don't recall exactly what David Wheeler's excellent 250 GTE book cost me but it was a fraction of that. I have bought a few books at or beyond that price point but, not being a 330 GTC owner and having run out of heavy duty coffee tables capable of supporting another book that I can't lift, I will be giving it a miss. But that's a real shame. I do think it is great that worthwhile books are being produced on niche subjects like this and I appreciate the time and effort that surely goes into them, but I wish the publishers, when pricing their books, would bear in mind that there is a limit to how many titles the market can bear at this sort of price. Or maybe I'm wrong and all 2,000 copies will sell out and it will soon be trading at twice the price as every owner buys two or three copies each.

Nevertheless, I look forward to Chas' review. Maybe I will be persuaded that I really do need to get another reinforced coffee table...

    And only $150!

Seem like a good book, but the price is out of my league. The FCA did a 60th anniversary book of similar size and quality for about $250 per book.

The book is done by a 'hobby' author who would like to sell 2075 copies to a (once) gullible audience. Well, those days are mostly over. David Wheeler's excellent GTE book (GBP 90.00) had a print run of 750 copies, and Porter Press is not reprinting.

I was actually referring to both the David Wheeler book and also the Ed Heuvink / Yvo Alexander book in terms of content (not price) and agree, both are a relative bargain by comparison.

As I was saying, 2,000 copies on a book on the 330GTC won't sell any time soon especially at that price and unfortunately the price will stop it from being on a lot more shelves then it probably deserves to be.

As I was curious, I have downloaded the free excerpt PDF from the website.
First impression: layout seems copied from the fabulous Dino Compendium by Mathias Bartz (which is fine by me).
Second impression: last page of the excerpt shows a photo of the Ferrari stand at the 1966 Turin Auto show with a Dino 206 GT on display. AFAIK, this was the 1967 Turin Auto Show. May seem a minor detail, but makes me wonder how thoroughly proof read this book is.

Maybe I am old fashioned but for $575 I expect to be informed correctly.

BTW, I do have the Maserati 5000 book. It is a good read and I can certainly recommend it, but it is not outstanding.

Unfortunately whether the book is filled with the most accurate facts, unique perspectives and unseen photos, or just random letters on a page written by monkeys, the cost is hidden in the materials, production and labour. Not in the content.
