Literally the only reason Mercedes didn't win every single race was for reliability reasons and the drivers being bozos driving into each other. Most dominant car of all time = the fastests of all time relative to it's competition. Reliability does play a factor but secondary. To me the 1988 Mclaren and 2014 Mercedes were superior cars. Utterly mindblowing in both qualifying and race, with both drivers.
Please look at 2014,2016 and 2020 season, you will see how both drivers for Mercedes were so far ahead of the rest of the field. 2020 there were many races both Lewis and Bottas were almost a second clear in qualifying. You are not seeing that with Redbull.
Both were dominant, but I would give the nod to RB this year. The Merc had two great drivers, and still not breaking records in one season like RB. And its only half season. Perez misses q3 often and still ends up on the podium. But it doesn't matter in the big picture. A dominant car is a dominant car. Whether its RB, Merc Ferrari. But both had dominant cars. I was just calling out the hypocricy that Max is somehow racing but Sir Lewis Hamilton was "cruising". Who is Max racing 30 seconds out front? The air?
Just finished viewing the full pre/post-race Sky coverage. Well the pre-race parts I could stomach , that is. The Brit announcers were near cardiac arrest over Sir LuLu being on pole. And the rubbish "qualifying analysis" interviews with the teenagers they apparently adopted for the day. And poor Danica never fails to sound like a bumpkin pet charity host who was given a microphone, and this time in some kind of bizarre drape costume as well. It was extremely satisfying to see it all dashed in mere seconds, however. Well deserved, Maximilian!!!
Bottas is a good driver, I rate him as good as Perez. In 2020 both him and Hamilton were always fighting for pole and it was the both of them one and two. Perez has only had two podiums in the last six races. If the RB is superior then the rest, you would see both Perez and Max walking away.
The RB car/team package is the best, but Max is also the best, most complete driver and firmly in his confidence zone at the moment. I don't really like the concept of any team/driver dominating for 5 years in a row, but if it has to happen, I rather see Max or Ferrari do it.
Yup I agree. I mean I'd rather see nail biting races for the win but if that's not possible I do like to see my favourite driver in my second favourite team shatter all sorts of records. Most wins in a season seems likely (bettering the record he set last year). Most wins in a season percentage wise (the more races there are, the hardest this one is)...it's possible for now. he needs 18 out of 22 to go over the magic 75% set my Ascari 72 years ago. Most wins in a row...2 short of equaling it, 3 short of beating it. If the car holds together next 3 races it's certainly possible, but they need to set the car up more for quali in Zandvoort I'd think. There's a possibility he can make it to 3rd all time wins by the end of the season as well. Statistics aren't everything as they never tell the full story. But they are nice.
Disagree. What I'm seeing from RB is all evidence I need that its on another level. And Perez and Max are walking away. Perez is walking away from rest of the field in the championship without having to use Q3.
yeah, Perez is ''walking away'' from the rest in the field, with results such as : 16th 4th 6th 3rd 6th 3rd That's the last 6 races. Sure is walking away from ''the rest of the field''.
He's gained 40 places in the last 5 races It's not a stellar performance in that RB19 but nonetheless.
Can you give an example of Perez walking away this season recently? He got up to third but struggle to close on Norris at Hungry. You just don’t want to admit that Max is on another level. Please look at Max’s racing history prior to F1 and how dominant he was in karting and other formula car series.
you ARE seeing perez walking away...he's just got to get his $h!t together on Saturdays...because he's starting at the back...that's how dominant that car is.
