All joking aside. I did see in the manual that jumping the car is not supposed to be done. Nor is changing out the battery. Has anyone ever had a warranty claim denied because they jumped their car previously?
oh boy lol...... THIS I what started this topic of the NOCO... I was saying the same thing and have been told the same thing BUT Mandalay encouraged me to get one just in case..... I don't use the battery tender thing on my Ferraris cos I like to keep it clean and neatly in its box lol..... but I've never had a problem.... just felt it was good to have in emergency. also, Mandalay, it came in a nice box that I just put in bonnet next to the cover bag. No need to buy a case as well.
Well he is correct as I have been left stranded by my new 2022 F8 twice. Thanks to this same jump box it did not happen a third time. So yes we should have one. I’m just curious is anyone has had Ferrari call them on it.
FYI - I was advised by my Ferrari dealer (in Houston) to use one of these for my prior 488. Also it appears that the dealer uses these in their service department so I doubt it would raise issues with Ferrari. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Prior to jump starting my F8, I called the dealership because I was worried about somehow frying the electronics. I spoke with a technician about it and it all worked out fine. I know that the dealership and Ferrari are very separate entities, but I doubt this would cause a warranty claim denial. I did, however mention to them that I wanted to use an aftermarket battery. They didn’t seem to like that idea
Strange about the aftermarket battery- my dealer sells me the interstate batteries when one dies and say it’s way better and that’s what they use…. Or they used to anyway on my 430’s— haven’t had to yet on the F8. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
These things are so bad with batteries. My son has these little made in china toys that he sometimes puts in the bathtub, and they still work! ****ing things run for like 8 months, non-stop. President Xi has elite engineers over there.
Nope and I have extended Factory warranttee 6,7 years now on my 488GTB. I think they dont advise it due to stupidity. Hence why I advocated getting a unit that has polarity safety and no spark.
The first and only time I was stranded I did call Ferrari assist. They said they would be sending out a tow truck however informed me they will attempt to use a starter first. With that response by chance a car filling up next to me asked if I need help. He had a starter and off I went. I informed Ferrari service and explained what had happened and they said all OK we use them in the service bay.
