    Hello hello

I have PIS issues.. Car needs too many revs when cold (drives OK when warm), but would like to get the PIS tighter... Without paying silly money to do it :)

Can anyone local lend a hand?

I've tried using a Launch X431. We couldn't seem to find the "writing configuration" orange button on the right? We entered a number but then couldn't action it? If anyone could advise how to get this to work? Car was running / warm etc

PIS currently at 5.08 (according to Launch) with 11k old clutch. Been advised 4.5 is needed at this stage

    Cheers!

I’m not to local to you but I’m in Newcastle but often in West Yorkshire visiting parents if you don’t have any luck elsewhere.

Appreciate it mate. Fez owners around these parts are as rare as hen's teeth!

Could be an option but I'd like to get it sorted soon as. Already had quotes of £100+ to press about 6 buttons. Does my head in!

Which TCU version do you have ?
You are able to connect the X431 to the TCU but you don't see the PIS writing button ? Which S/W version do you have ?

TCU not sure, it'll be the factory one in an early 2007. It uses the earlier gearbox software on the Launch (there's a choice of two)

The Launch is a Pro mini, 2016. V5. 01.010. It will happily do stuff like an actuator relearn but we struggled with PIS. I think the subscription on it has been left to expire (it isn't mine). Not sure if this might prevent doing PIS change? I'm going to play around with it a bit more in a bit. Let me know if there's anything else that might help ta

And yes, "writing configuration" orange button (I've seen it there on a YouTube video) appears to be blank on our Launch. I may have not chosen some kind of option within this blank button so that's what I'm going to have a play with.

It let us enter a number, but we couldn't seemingly "write" it

OK finally got it to work. The write configuration button was seemingly in the wrong place on my Launch or it just decided to show up this time who knows. Car feels far better now. At PIS 4.7. Is it worth tightening further and further?

You can tighten it up until the car wants to lurch forward when in 1st gear, then back off until that ceases. I just took mine from 5.1 to 4.5 last night at 74% worn and it's now a different car. Shifts are super quick and smooth.

OK great I'll play around with it. Have you tested your reverse gear when the car is hot? I hear too tight can mean problems here?

I've never tightened it up enough to result in reverse issues. I try to be cautious not to over do it, but to keep up with clutch loss.

Yeah it's a feel thing ultimately! I just got used to being able to easily bump my car (in reverse) out of the drive and then after a year of ownership (I mainly drive like a pillock haha) the car felt really heavy when cold. Happily back to how it was now and I can basically just bump it out without too much gas. As my clutch is only 11k old I didn't wanna go too tight, too soon.

    Hi there,

Apologies but also Manchester based and desperate to use a Launch x431 as my Porsche is stuck in service mode and from the reading I have done this tool is my answer.

could you point me in the right direction of what garage had one so I can get in contact with them.

    Many thanks
