Does anyone know what kind of screws hold the AC panel up in a F8 (488)? I can feel two tunnels for the screws but can’t tell what they are… torx? Phillips? Anyone know? … and also, is this panel just those two screws to remove? Pretty easy? Thanks dudes.

A/C panel? Photo please. I’ll bet 5.5 or 6 mm torx.

Really SD?? It doesn’t just drop down after removing the two whatever screws? Ugh… was just wondering what tool to stick up in there and start twisting (shut up Eric) and then hoped it’d just pull down so I can install the carbon fiber and then screw it back up.

Are you referring to the HVAC control panel? The CF covers I’ve seen are affixed with two-sided tape.

Yes… but that panel needs to be removed from dash to affix the carbon… then reinstall,.. I guess I’ll just keep sticking different torx or screwdrivers up there and see what grabs… I’ll try the 5.5-6 torx… I’m hoping once I remove the two screws that it just pulls down without too much drama. I have interior plastic pry tools also if I gotta give it a little encouragement… will find out tomorrow probably as I begin to install all this carbon everywhere.

This will no doubt cause the ECU to freak out and throw a code resulting in a CEL...

It might even cause your TPMS to auto-deflate your tires...

Still looking for help or knowledge about the A/C panel in an F8…. I ‘think’ I found a tool that fits in the screws holding it in— a T15 seems to grab… not positive but feels like it.

So does anyone know that if I remove these screws (there seems to be 3), if the unit will just drop down with no extra drama?

They’ve been super nice but don’t think they know what screws they are or if there is more effort other than the 3 screws- I managed to get the S-duct, center lock cover, water tank cover, flag badge, engine bay surrounds etc done…. I just bought a better style tool that I think will work to remove the screws from AC control panel — will see later tonight.

success! Just the 3 screws on backside up top... it's wiggles right down, installed the CF and screwed back up. Perfect. No issues if anyone else is thinking of doing it.
