Anybody offered an Oysterflex Daytona recently? Tired of waiting but don't want to pay 30% over list for grey. Curious if there are any deliveries happening these days.
It was offered to me 2 weeks ago but rejected (ref 116519LN). As it was not the newer Daytona series (March/April 2023 onwards). Prices on them are pretty soft and I won't recommend going grey. Unless you only need 1 watch in collection and doesn't care for relationship with the ADs. I am waiting for ref: 126529LN Will happen this year, must have if you are a collector of Daytonas..
Yes the white gold with the black face is great. Did they discontinue the white gold with the navy face and red circles around the sub-dials?
126529LN is a LeMans limited, special model, 100th anniversary, a must have. And will be way harder to grab Rolex haven't done many special editions in their past history. And yes Rolex did discontinued many Daytonas in Spring 2023.
I've been waiting for a YG Newman oysterflex, though recently have become more interested in a silver dial 116519LN. Not that it matters much, not getting the call! Best of luck with the 126529LN - that will be a special acquisition when the time comes!
I couldn't tell on TV, but did the Le Mans winners get the new special edition 126529LN on the podium, or the more standard steel/yellow black dial Daytona?
Yea they did Here is the link, more info about Daytona: https://oracleoftime.com/rolex-limited-edition-le-mans-daytonas-celebrating-24-hours-of-le-mans-centenary/
First time I have really seen anyone with a twin to my Daytona. My wife is likely to get mine - one day - but that's hopefully going to be a while yet. PDG
Before anyone says anything these are NOT my thingies. Tried a friend's RM whirls having some Greek fish and stopped by Tiffany's to play with a few pieces whilst I wait my turn. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I went for a stroll in the woods after a light shower, when it smells of sap and petricore. The Conny Megaquartz accompanied me (ah, and the ever present Apple Watch, for stats of course). Image Unavailable, Please Login
That article makes it sound like the "special edition" for the winners is just the caseback engraving, and the other special edition 126529LN is for the public. From the article, "Let’s focus in on those winner’s watches. Rolex haven’t given an exact reference number for them but all signs point towards them being based on the current Oystersteel edition Daytona that was launched earlier this year. One of the special editions was gifted the winning drivers while the Le Mans Daytona Ref. 126529LN is available for purchase.".
