    That DAP sealant is silicon based. Silicone sealants typically do not take paint well.
    I would go with a butyl runner sealant like Permatex 80338 Black Rubber. It's meant to stick to rubber and glass.

    Just an FYI. I have used the DAP sealant and it has worked very well and has stayed flexible since I applied it several years ago. There is no silicon in it. It adheres well to metal. They call it silicon like toughness" but it's an elastomeric latex sealant.
