I must confess my driving ability is nowhere near the limits of the car or the specific tyres it has on so I wouldn't be able to give you an informed analysis. Having said that the difference in handling between cold and warm tyres and brakes is particularly noticeable.

Beautiful image, there is not a bad angle with these cars.

By the way, a well-known journalist speaking to the high potency of the car far beyond the usability of most drivers said words to the effect: you don't test the 599 GTO, it tests you.

    Evolution of a GTO.

Original design drawings for the 599XX by Ferrari SpA's Coco Donato (he was was Director of Design & Development at Ferrari where he was also responsible for the F430 Scuderia Coupé and Spider, 16M, F458 Italia etc), interestingly, the 599XX's design was patented with the US Patent Office on March the 23rd 2010.

Original wheel donuts on a developmental 599XX, vented versions of these made their way into the 599 GTO signaling the latter car's intended use.

Someone may want to correct me, but I think USA spec 599 GTOs were sold in the Middle East, here's one delivered there as seen at Tomini Classics in Dubai.

My understanding is that the GCC spec cars and the USA spec cars both had the corner lights, but the GCC cars have a "B" VIN (10th digit), whereas the US cars have an "A" VIN.

I believe the car in your image is chassis 175787, which was delivered new at Al-Tayer Motors and came to the US in 2015 before being auctioned at Gooding's 2018 Scottsdale sale

    Uncharacteristically imprecise of you!

I know of this GTO which I understand was brought into the USA for personal use by the Saudi national who owned it, but surely you mean Gooding's 2018 Pebble Beach auction? www.goodingco.com

Good to know about GCC spec 599 GTOs, I hadn't had reason to look into that yet.

This GTO subsequently ended up at the erstwhile CNC Motors where it was reviewed in some detail by our California friend Doug De Muro.

Then I believe it departed back to the Middle East and Tomini Classics in Dubai https://tominiclassics.com/collections/20128/ where the image I posted above was taken.

A beautiful livery IMHO, I saw a similar USA 599 GTO at Ferrari of Newport Beach recently www.instagram.com

Just did a 80km drive this morning and what it did was reaffirm that the AMT is very much part of the character of this car. Changes are smooth but positive at low speed and aggressive when you start using more throttle.

Its still a very focused car to drive, you can do the GT part quite well and cruise but that wild character is never far away. Put the car in Race and the the race car like feeling intensifies and its like the whole car is ready to attack.

Race cars usually have smaller wheels (especially at that time, crazy to see newer cars perform so well with 21" and above these days!). It allows for more tire and is naturally less rotating mass.
